Solid shoulder workout today, happy with all the lifts. Shrugs were hard though, had to use a mixed grip and straps to do it. All in all a good workout

nice on the shrugs. at what weight do you straps or is it for all. I find anything over 120 my hands just give out on after about 3 reps so i need straps

i dont usually bother using straps for 100, but sometimes im just lazy so i do, wouldnt be able to do 12 of 140 without straps that for sure! I found when i began using straps that my traps really started to bust out. I think if you dont use straps your not going to get good results, why would you limit the size/strength of your traps by your grip endurance.

Happy with how todays workout went. Couldnt match my previous best on the dbs but i suspect i hadnt warmed up enough to hit it on my first set. Really starting to solidify the 100 on the incline, adding 2 more reps to both sets, time for a weight increase next week. Well pleased with the tris, improved the middle set reps and the final set. Only concern is weight, i had been using a different scale to measure my weight and when i jumped on a new one in my regular gym today it read 85kg, so not to sure what my weight actually is :o

Those are some impressive lifts you've got there. It's not often that you see someone shifting 100kgs on an incline bench or moving DBs heavier than 50kgs.

Keep it up man - you're very motivating to have around! :)

incline bench looks pretty solid.

i would the newer scale as more accurate one.

i always weigh myself on the same scale .. in the gym . its a pretty mint one

Yeah i think the one im weighing myself on now is the real weight, the other was a digital type...damn only 85...oh well on with the bulking!!!!

It's always good to see how other people are progressing - that's why I like reading journal threads. Keeps me fired up.

It's been a while since my wrecked shoulders would allow me to chuck around any real weight on the bench or to shift any of the bigger DBs but I am slowly working my way back up the rack.

Mate ill tell you one peice of advise, if your doing flat barbell bench press, STOP, it absolutely ruined my tendons, i tried to work through the pain but the weight began to drop off, ive been pumping the glucosamine, chond and msm for a while now and have dropped flat bb bench altogether, now im injury free and lovin it. Incline bench is my new staple press.

Totally agree - flat bench pretty much totaled my shoulders over the years. I dropped it completely about 10 weeks ago and now I only use inclines or machines.

My shoulders are much better than they have been in years and my incline weights are slowly getting there. My chest is looking better than it ever has as well - so much for flat bench, they can keep it as far as I am concerned. :D

 c'mon guys see the light .. incline db press is where its at

I like incline DB press but I don't much like hauling the DBs up into press position or getting them back down without tearing myself a new "you know what". I'll take a BB in the rack any day.

Good workout today, back strength still increasing, biceps are approaching prevous PB's. I bought a new rope today but its thinner than my last one and really dug into my hips on the 25's, lost some skin. Didnt worry about doing to much iso bicep work, they were pretty hammered after the back exercises, just finished them off with a few sets.

they look like a regular weightliftin belt xcept it doesnt have a buckle. they are really wide. on the ends of the belt there are 2 rings. and a chain comes of 1 of the rings. so you put the chain through the weights u want, put it throught the other ring then clip it back onto itself (if you can follow that) and viola

Wow that sounds really good compared with a peice of rope, i cant imagine what the pain will be like higher than 25, guess ill have to look at buying one. Anyone got a link? or seen one in a nationwide retailer?

Thats a good weight you got on the bb curls what is your pb for that ?

Nah my PB is that weight for 6 reps. However i think that was on a day where i didnt pre exhaust them with a back routine so i may have trouble obtaining it anytime soon.
