Looking strong! I don't know how you do heavy CG straight after doing skullcrushers.

Thanks Ash, CG suffered a bit today because of the extra set of skulls, usually id just do 2 sets and save some energy for CG.

good to see some red in there man

Cheers.

Another one to the db press I see, at this rate you will be looking for new weight early next year at the latest. On the same note my gym got in some 65 kg dbs not that I will be touching them !!

use them for rows

Impressive. I use 42 kgs or so for rows, no straps or anything but even if I did I would not be able to go to the 65's ....maybe one day!

Yeah i was pretty pleased with that, it was alot easier to get them into place this time, last time i felt very light headed after i finally got them up. Getting them up into place for the first rep is always the hardest part i find.

It sure is. I find if I don't get them up easy it can ruin my whole set. I'm sure its a mind thing :D

Yip i cant tell how the whole set is going to go by how easy it is to get them into that top starting position. I think i read somewhere it is because you do a concentric portion first to get them into the top starting posistion, as opposed to say bench press where you start at the top and do the eccentric first.

Back strength has just about returned to its previous best. Just continued the trend of actively going up in weight / reps. Pretty happy with all exercises, swaped out db rows for machine rows again just for a change. Just need 1 more rep on the 36s for db precher curls to get back to pb on that exercise. I also dropped a set from the precher curls because of the extra set of bb curls.

Looking as strong as ever.

That lat pulldown machine must be on it's last legs? :pfft:

Chhers mate. I get a few odd looks when i load up the stack with plates and dbs, i think it can handle much more abuse

nice work man ur a freak with those rows and curls

Thanks. Yeah back and biceps are complementory after all, strong back leads to strong bis, strong bis help build a big back, its a vicous cycle, and i must say i like it!

Well today workout was REALLY taxing. I started of thinking ill just go in and do my usual routine. So i start with regular squats, same as last week except the extra rep on 145. So i move on to 20 rep squats, decided to go up again in all sets so i add 5 kilos to each, bad move! By the end of the last set i was feeling really sick, light headed, dry mouth, quesy stomach. I dont think ill be going up in weight for a while there. I did have a carb drink to sip on the whole workout so i think that help. So i rested up a while and thought i try front squats. Its the first time ive done them and i must say i really enjoyed them, very light weight of corse, but i found the technique more natural than regular squats, definiatly be doing these again. Then it was onto sldl's which i decided to super set with llc's for some extra burn, the weight used on the curls was really light but straight after the sldl's it felt pretty damn heavy. Couple more reps out of the sbbcr's. Very good workout, my legs are dead and im very sleepy...

Yeah i loved the front squats, they seemed way more natural the regular ones, ill start to up the weight soon, if i find its too much volume then ill drop regulars and go hard with fronts. Theres no back issues at all!!! And like you say, seems to really work the quads a lot more.

I have to thanks you guys who regularly post in my journal, i barely trained legs before i started posting here, now i couldnt be without a hard leg workout. Thanks for all the encouragement guys.

Well todays workout sucked big time. I went into it feeling hungry and thirsty. Everything felt really heavy, i didnt have a lot of motivation after the first few sets. I was hoping to increase shoulder strength today. I guess it will have to wait till next time lol. Its been a good week all the same. Weight has been maintained for a while noew, i think im ready to cut.

do you have any kind of pre workout drink or stimulant caffine etc? If not that might help.

Ready to cut ? I will follow with great interest.

I have a plan i usually follow to get ready for the workout, two meals, one two hours before the gym, the other 1 hour, both are fairly light but high in carbs, i also make a point to be well hydrated. Time contraints today ment i couldnt do my usuall routine so i only had breakfast to go on, that was long gone however.

I dont really take anything special like caffiene or other stimulants.

Yeah i will start next week if all goes well.
