Newbie gains some weight

Hi guys,

Here are some befores... will get the afters as soon as I can, not quite finished yet but nearly.

I was 76kg(1.94cm) and 6.6% fat - weighed a little bit less in this photo

I'm now 89Kg's and 9.3%BF.

Total gain of 13kg so far and 2.7%BF. According to the scales about 10kg increase in lean mass to 75kg.

That photo was late October/early December last year.

To be honest I have struggled at times with the amount of cardio/soccer training I have been doing (3 or 4 times a week) Vs only hitting the gym once a week each for upper and lower. Lately I have thrown in a second workout for arms also.

After looking around the site a bit more lately I'm almost disappointed when comparing to others results :clap: (which is awesome and a bit of inspiration) but I guess for the amount of training I am able to do it's not all bad.

Hey Timbo, good on you for posting pics (and for taking the shit these guys have been giving you!)

There's definite progress, but it's hard when you can't really train enough. Is there no way you can train more? I'm not sure what else to suggest.

If you can manage 3 days a week, rather than dedicating an entire day to arms, a split like this would be better:

Day 1: Back, Triceps, Shoulders

Day 2: Legs

Day 3: Chest, Biceps, Abs

That way, you're hitting bis/tris both on their own day, and as a secondary muscle on the other day (working back also works biceps, and working chest works shoulders and triceps)

Haha I don't care but if you give you gotta be able to take it when it comes around :nod:

I've got the stats to tell me there is progress, 6.5cm and 7cm gains on R and L biceps, 14cm gain around the chest not to mention the weight gains etc etc

Football has been the No. 1 priority and that is why I have been doing this anyway so training for that comes first. I found it hard not being at 100% for training when I was sore from the gym. I do an arms session on a friday as it doesn't impact me really at all on game day and is the only time I can fit it in.

Summer is the off season where I will do most of my work and then try to maintain during the season. Once I have finished football I can get back into the gym more and will be hitting it 4 times a week with an upper lower split.

Haha no need for tan... just wait for summer :) thats what it's for! (oh and I have a skin condition called psoriasis which are the red bits :wink: )

Training and eating training and eating... Seriously I have thought/done nothing else for about a year! I did recently come to the realisation that my calorie equations were off as I had worked them out for mass gaining with a 10kg lower lean weight! So changed that and I'm putting on weight again... who would have thought :pfft:
