You're spending a lot of time on that DL setup. I don't so much care about the back-rounding as I do that shit on purpose, but if you're gonna do it, it should be on purpose and not because you wound up that way trying to do something else. Not everybody is going to pull with "low hips", and IMO the fact that the hips shoot up when you start the pull is trying to tell you that your levers may suit higher hip position. A clean-style pull has its place, but most people won't keep up anything like that when it turns into a max deadlift.

Try moving your shins a little closer to the bar, bringing your grip in a little closer (it looks wide on video), and instead of trying to push your hips as low as they'll go, just focus on getting tight through the midsection. Once the weights get heavy your body is going to default to its strongest levers whether you want it to or not, so you might as well be strong in that position. Another thing to think about - some people find that spending a long time bent over and trying to find your setup can kill strength off the floor. You don't necessarily have to dive-bomb it, but getting in place as quickly as possible might make the difference between a good lift and a miss.

Squat looks fine minus what's already been mentioned, could use a smidge more depth, otherwise no big faults there. That could be a form fault, it could be in your head, or it could be a hip/ankle mobility issue. Hard to say based on video.

Bench, it looked like you may not quite have had your butt set on the bench, but it was hard to tell from the angle. Otherwise that looked fine. You might want to experiment with bringing your grip in a little closer there also. Wide grip without a shirt doesn't suit everyone, and even long-armed people might find that a closer grip is both easier on the shoulders and stronger.

Solid lifting all around, though.

Thanks guys for your posts, definately need to work on some things there. Actually P-Man looking at the vid it doesn't look as if my bum down on the bench either... I thought it was touching but maybe it wasn't? i'm gonna ditch the plates under my feet I think and try remember your tips Rose too. Re: Deads BJ, Ness & P-Man's words am gonna have another crack tomorrow see if I can get it right. Grip way too wide though I agree, I even said to TT earlier as I was setting up I thought for a split second something doesn't feel right here but just ignored it... God it's actually painful for me to watch those DL's :disgusted:

But this is all part of the learning, can't wait to get back in there now

next time you gonna post that retro shit, give a brother a headsup! lol

nice lifting chick - im not in a position to be dishing advice, but with the deads, i did the same thing, trying to 'emulate' a low hip style pull, when the reality was the i was getting my hips lower through rounding my lower back down, due to not being flexible.

I had a session with pman one on one, and he picked up on it straight away. when i changed to a higher hips position, not only was it more comfortable, but i pulled my best dead on the spot.

Video is key - keep taking regular video, including straight from the side, at hip height. youll make HUGE gains just by keeping watching yourself, trying new grips/stances/setups, and noting how it changes your form, and how hard the pull is. and youll soon find your ideal deadlifting setup.

just my 2c

Keep up the good work!

keep the great work going - awesome stuff we are always learning that's how we all become better MG

Cheers VP, the advise has been awesome! Gonna re-evaluate my dead tomorrow because I know I have felt alot more (i don't know if comfortable is the right word) but comfortable when doing these before... as long as I can pick it up, squat it and bench it next Saturday I'll be happy

Just got back from weekend away so only just saw this - nice work! I am in no position at all to offer feedback, as you look way better than me at everything :pfft:

I also thought your butt looked off the bench in your presses - and wondered if that was meant to be how you do it, I'm that clueless. I am always wondering how on earth to get the feet flat on the ground, as I can't manage getting them back, and on the ground flat at the same time - and thought that the butt off the bench might be the way. But with the other feedback noting but butt thing, so I guess it's not something I should try to get the feet flat!

But good work on your lifts

Oh yay, hope you had a nice weekend away CC! Yeah when I watched back it looked like my butt not touching either but I'm positive I could feel it on there coz i'm conscious of it... maybe i should wear not so baggy shorts so can see properly next time and not nearly up them  OR move the camera more side on

dont know If its been mentioned morattigirl and I know we spoke of it on sat but maybe taking those plates out from under your feet will help your arse sit on the bench???

Or build a fat arse itll hang lower :pfft:

Yup we did & I said to P-Man a few posts ago that I'm gonna ditch the plates also see how that goes

Build a fat arse TT? Lol yeah nah :pfft:

MG how did you decide on that Ink design?

I have been wanting to do something for ages but am stumped as to what to get... a phrase, a picture.... or even where to have it done. In your female opinion where looks good on guys?

Uh that design I just jumped on one of the tattoo websites & looked over & over designs Tattoo Johnny I think it was? Found one similar to that and took it into the studio, this chick redesigned it to suit as it's actually a cover-up of my very 1st tattoo.

Hmmm tattoos on guys =P~ Personally for me I love tatts on shoulders/arms/back/legs/calves oh shit lol anywhere really, depending on what picture or design your getting as to where you would put it, if you're looking at a phrase or writing I would say inner forearm. Do it AO, once you start you won't be able to stop :pfft: It's fucken addictive and HOT
