I'm not sure atm rose?? Was saying before I feel a little bit lost right now coz I dunno what I'm gonna do now...

Personally I'd set some new goals to keep focused. IMHO it'd be a shame to not continue to build on the last 8 weeks, but ultimately it's up to you to decide what you enjoy eh.

Setting a small short term goal might help give you something to work towards and maintain momentum in the interim, if this is something you think you'd like to carry on doing.

If you're unsure about goals (i.e. what's realistic etc), just pluck some numbers out of the air and refine them later. It doesn't matter what the numbers are, they're just numbers and you can change them. Or keep it really simple for now, e.g. I want to add 5kg to my squat/bench/dead.

Blahblahblah

Good luck with whatever you decide to do :salute:

Thanks rose, i was thinking along the same lines re being a shame to not continue to build on what i've done so far. I've really enjoyed the training I've been doing and it having purpose...

Was having a wee look at Sheiko but yeah still undecided, just gonna chill out for a couple of days and maybe go back and like you say just set some new goals to add to

Been thinking a lot about you asking what is next for you and think ill just go ahead and voice my useless opinion...................

I think you have done fucken well with the 500lb club you worked real hard to achieve it you set mini goals throughout you got frustrated and worked through it and made your target weights on all three lifts missy well done 8)

I reckon its been a good strength building phase and has served to add some good mass but I think the PL style can be used as such to build strength and muscle and used as a phase rather than becoming your main focus,

If you take the PL route fulltime you can expect to lose those "useless"abs you love and definitely put on a few more kgs as well. You love those pump and combat classes wont you miss getting the hell sweat up and getting that heart pumping or the crossfit style weights you did those were fucken mean and you can still do the heavy low rep days for sure not dropping pl style all together, and I havnt even touched on the aesthetically pleasing aspect that training like a bodybuilder builds good looking body shape and I know no one said you cant be strong and hot but ah lets be honest powerlifters care not for looks as much as strength why not have the best of both worlds?????

My opinion only and flammable by many on here but its also practical dont be a BBer no but how about a powerbuilder incorporating the best of both worlds!!!

Yes a powerbuilding phase does have it's merits TT but not all PL's are fatties with no abs  Just check out Hannah Johnson or Jessica Varga...they are hot chicks and strong too. Come to the dark side MG...we have beef

ahh and two guns wotever!!

I realise that there can be hundreds of powerlifters whom you PLers can show me pix of them being lean and super hot but there are thousands more per hundred of them less than lean and for MG to continue to progress she will lose some of that definition and add some fat as minimal cardio lots more food(she eats f*ck all :pfft: )hits home!!

edit......after a quick skim of hannah johnson seems she runs bootcamps and a lot of fitness model type training can you fit all of this into a pl routine as well as all the harsh workouts PL demand?

Sure can TT.. that's why we use metabolic resistance training as our conditioning and GPP. I have a 500lb + total, mother of 5 and at 56kg have a relatively low body fat percentage and I stay on top of things with a pretty clean diet and regular GPP. That is all :)

I like the idea of "doing both" there's no way i'm gonna stop my weight training or even back off them coz i just love it. I still want to train the three main disiplines with the assistance as i've been doing, and make more gains but also want to incorporate some of my crossfit type stuff back in again too (and combat) I do enjoy pretending I'm a hardcore fighter and can pull out a can of whipass when need be :pfft:

It doesn't have to be an either/or thing.

Do some heavy workouts. Do some bodybuilding stuff and conditioning stuff along with it. Keep the diet in check.

Problem solved :)

what I said only more pman direct :pfft:

sorry my brother ..short attention span when reading big novels ia! :pfft: :pfft:

Most of the fatties would've been fat before they started "powerlifting" or "powerbuilding" or whatever you want to call it.

GPP can replace cardio. There's more than one way to skin a cat etc. Traditional cardio isn't the only way to keep fit and burn calories.

At the end of the day, it's up to MG to decide what she wants to do. However, I'd hate to see her influenced by ignorance, or arguments that play on body image. You don't get fat overnight, nor do you build mussels overnight.

Eating too few calories is just as detrimental to fat loss as eating too many hey.

Any one can achieve anything with proper rest, diet and training and its all going to depend on the power off the mind and the will from that person to get the results with a firm plan in place as its a hard road to get stronger in any weight class.

And I am a firm believer if you want to stay in a specific weight class and follow the above steps you will get stronger you give your body no other option but to do so you bust your arse each and every training to achieve it.

Best of luck

I think the trend in powerlifting now is for the leaner athletic type athlete. Look at the numbers at world champs and the biggest totals are being posted by guys in the 100-125 class its no longer the shws at the top. For me weight gain was the means to an end. I had it bred into me that the bigger you are the more you lift so I went from 70kg with abs to 105kgs with rolls in less than 12months and now im trying to reverse what ive done as theres more merit in me being a lean 110 than a fat 125.

Case in point lift heavy, do some power cardio and cut out the mcds.

Do it MG theres potential there!!
