Fat burning supplements

Recommended Posts

Hi all, this is my first post on this board. I started lifting about 10 years ago to reduce fat. After 2 years of lifting and cardio I was in the best shape of my life. After the wife had my first child i stopped with the exercise and now, a few years down the track, I'm fat, flabby and out of shape. I want to start some program called "P90X" which was recommended to me by a friend. Here's the thing I used to take ECAs to help with the weight loss but I hear they are illegal now?!? Probably because of all the P-heads out there. What are some good replacements for ECAs/fat burning supplements that actually work?

Thanks

I"m not so sure on the progressions and balanced programming aspects of P90X, but do see its merit in that if it gets you into some exercise its a good thing, there are far worse Tv products out there.

I think you will find that getting into a consistent exercise program combined with healthy eating and addressing lifestyle factors should be a good start. Not sure if I'd worry too much about supplements for fat-loss just yet if your diets horrible the fat-loss supps wont be effective.

Good luck

Have a look at Gaspari Mitotropin...I have a few clients using it and have used it myself with good results.

Turbos are good too but more for training energy although thermogenic too.

Eat less, move more always works too

I've been told exercise and diet are the best things for fat burning but I could be wrong. If you haven't even started training you don't need a fat burning supplement. Try asking this question in six months time once you have your diet and training sorted out.

lol.

There is no replacement for ECA, just things that claim to be replacement

I must say I haven't been hearing great stuff about OTC diet pills but any recommendations you make will be very helpful,

Lipo6X, but honestly I wouldn't bother with any thermos until your diet and cardio is spot on. Otherwise they are just expensive bad tasting lollies. :pfft:

Most "OTC diet pills" work. In fact a caffeine tablet will work for fatloss so if a fat burner has caffeine in it, then it will work. It's just the people using them that aren't working.

Honestly if you use a fat burner and after a cycle of using it you are still just as fat as you started then you shouldn't be blaming the supplement.

Best bet would prob be Carnitine, CLA and some sort of caffeinated supp or some green tea.

Depends how much red meat you get in your diet but I've found carnitine to be the most helpful.

Look at what foods your eating too, if your cutting you may not be eating some food that usually supply you with the vits and minerals you need. In other words it may be useful looking at a multi vit to help as well.

Anavite is pro as bro, vits with carnitine 8)

Good idea to keep the sugars at an all time low too, thermos are useless if you eat something high GI and it insta-stores as fat. Also look at your sodium level and keeping your natural test high, all that good stuff that has a slimming effect. Don't wanna cut to the point where you look flat and deflated.

Good luck

Hi Fella

You cant beat natures way ie: train hard at least 4 times a week hitting all your major body parts, once..... That way your metabolism will speed up for up to 38-48 hrs after each session repairing & rebuilding..!!!

Aerobic exercise only speeds up your metabolism for up to 60 mins after leaving the gym......

Fat burners that artificially speed up your metabolism, tend not to work long term because your body always tries to compensate, so i slows itself down......

When you stop, your left with a metabolism at a slower rate than before you started, so you tend to put on what you lost, in the time it takes to speed back up again....

Oh & watch your diet

There's no easy way... Goodluck..

:ditto: What they said.

Price the fatburners, then spend that coupla hundred bucks on setting up a clean diet, an effective training programme and real food.

Right now, the only thing you'd likely really really need is a good multi-vitamin.
