Cheers guys.

Yeah sorry I missed you at the fitness expo Android. I will be honest, I saw you at Nates stand and It was a tough choice whether to come day hi then or keep watching the Girls in the Model search. I chose the girls cos I thought you'd stick around a bit longer. Then after that I texted you and you'd gone home :shifty: nevermind, catch you at the pans this weekend (yes I will be there Gymrat). Well hopefully, I don't have a ticket yet and it's sold out so I'm going to have to do some grovelling to the organisers I think lol.

Was cool to meet you Big John, pretty easy to pick you out of the crowd big guy haha.

Another leg day, another update

Got my bodyfat done last Friday. I was sitting bang on 8%. Had first cheat meal in 2 and a half weeks which turned out to be very unsatisfying :?

Had a car accident in the family so had to go over to Tauranga hospital for the weekend to be with family so no training till yesterday but body felt good for the rest after being battered for the last couple of weeks. Chest yesterday was pretty good. Benched 183 x 3 then 165 x 8. Incline sets at 125kg and lots of heavy flies. Had pretty good chest doms today.

Legs today was always gonna be good. I received a bottle of Nose Tork Ammonia. Damn this shit is powerful.

A few warmup sets at 20kg, 60kg, 100kg and 180kg.

Added Belt, knee wraps and a whiff of Ammonia then boom nailed 267.5kg for a double.

Reracked then loaded up 280kg. Same setup and nailed a good single. Left squats there then did lots of leg extensions, Lunges and stiffleg deads.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the ammonia helps my deads because the focus is intense.

You saw me and picked the Model Search

I didn't see Nate there, didn't know he had a stand there either.

Good luck getting tickets mate u might have more luck than me.

I was in Evolution Systems yesterday and there were none. Sesa was in there signing up and the only way in now was to compete they told me haha

If you're around before or after the show let's catch-up for a feed or coffee.

Got a new flatmate arriving 2moro she's an overseas PT and might wanna compete in fitness :pfft: ... see if I can't bulk her up to be a BB'er will bring her along

Strong much?

How come you keeping doing the big lifts and low reps leading into comp mate, interesting.

Is it part of the plan or your just strong right now and doing them coz you can?

Coming into the shows earlier this year I dropped the heavy squats and deadlifts about 14 weeks out. I live for my squats and deads lol. I intend to continue squatting and deadlifting right up to a week out. These exercises built my body so to keep my mass I'm going to keep them in there.

Fortunately I have been given a whole heap of new Schiek equipment to play with by my sponsor RaiseLower.

Lever Weight belt

Knee Wraps

Wrist Wrap

Lifting Straps

And associated clothing and gym bag.

It's been a god send on my joints as lifting heavy as I lean up and dry out is really hard and I can train much safer now. I must say I am impressed with all the gear, especially the belt. Feels very stable. I test ran it with a 280kg squat early last week and it was fantastic. Can't wait for offseason to really push it!

Speaking of sore joints im taking a week off the heavy lifting just to let them rest a bit. Haven't been logging workouts as they've been much of the same. Funnily enough even though diet has been pretty good and 5-6 cardio sessions/week I have definately been leaning up but my weight has been pretty stagnant around 109-110. Must be growing into the show again and with my bodyfat reading at just under 7% last week it's looking increasingly unlikely I will get under 100kg in 5 weeks. Looks like I'm going to be lumped with Khalid at the Waikato IFBB show

Made huge progress in the last week. I was hovering around 108-110kg for quite some time but I've finally pushed through that plateau and now I'm sitting around 106kg and getting leaner and harder every day.

The last week I gave my body a rest from the heavy lifting, okay I'll admit I was still benching 180-190 and squatting 250+ for a few reps but they weren't my working sets. I focused more on contracted sets of 10-12 reps and my joints are loving me for it.

Cardio has been increased to 45minutes a day minimum, mainly on the crosstrainer as I can watch movies while I cardio on my ipad. You can't do anything else but step when you're doing the versaclimber its so intense and I've still got the problem with shin splints so inline treadmill is out of the question. Spin Bike is boring and I tire of rowing after 20 mins. I definately feel alot fitter than I have been in the past which I hope will show through in my physique.

I'm probably in better shape now than when I was on stage in Christchurch earlier this year so I've got 3 and a half weeks to really nail it on the head and come in strong then tweak it for the nationals in the 2 weeks following. I hope I can stay strong through the trickiest part and get it done. I have an amazing support crew who are helping me through every step so fingers crossed I will come in the best I have

Anyway enough of the cheesy stuff, I know you all just popped in to see if I posted a progress picture so here you go. It's from the weekend. Weighed in at 108 in the pic.

Cheers guys

No Mcmass, I'm going to try keep it pretty simple this time. Moderate carb load meal the night before the show and come In looking tight like a tiger, not going to play too much with the water levels too, probably just lower my intake a bit on Friday/Saturday. It's always tricky finding the right balance when you have another show the following week aye

Best of luck with your final prep this week, looking forward to seeing how you come in!
