Do you want me to put that pic on the back of your t? :pfft: I mean the cat in the bread.

Classic crack up bud.

Haha that would be an awesome tshirt Miss, but I think I'll pass

I just suggested someone have a look through your journal. Now how are they supposed to take you seriously

Awesome costume, was unaware of cat breading. Life just became a little more complete \:D/

Sorry bro, will try keep things more serious in here from now on :shifty:

Nice costume!! Awesome bro!! No doubt there would've been a few stray hands on those quads lol checking they're real!

Cheers guys, and yeah a few people thought my quads were part of the costume and were freaked out when they realised they were real lol

After a month off Squats to give my lower body a rest I hit them again on Wednesday night and it didn't go well.

Warmed up with sets at 20kg, 60kg, 100kg, 180kg and loaded up 225kg for a working set.

Unracked the bar and did first rep, but I could feel a bit of a pinch in my right hip flexor and my right glute which I tore a couple of years ago started to feel sore. With each subsequent rep it got worse. After 6 reps I had to rerack the weight well short of quad failure :(

Dropped the weight back to 200kg and again had to rack after 6 reps because it was getting too painful. First time Ive had this happen. Got a massage booked in for early next week so hopefully that will sort me out.

Anyway, finished workout with single leg - leg press, leg extension, Seated Ham Curls, Ham presses on leg press and Calf raises.

Last night I did Chest and Abs

Started on incline DB and used the 100lb DBs for working sets

Did 3 sets of 25/20/18 dropset on last to 12 @ 50lb and 12 @ 25lb

Incline Bench

3 sets with 100kg on bar. 12 / 10 / 10. Chest still burning from the highrep incline DB presses, this finished it off.

Did 3 sets of Incline DB Flies working up to the 70lb DBs for 12

3 sets of Machine Flies slow and deliberate. 12 reps each set with half stack

For Abs I did several sets of Hanging Leg raises and Planks. Least favourite bodypart to train. I need to get more focused and do them harder. Not sure it matters that much, abs looking very thick and prominent now.

After the workout I met my missus at the mall to grab a couple of things. While we were walking through she saw her younger sister at the checkouts at the supermarket as you walk in. She walked over and said hi. Just at that moment she scanned through a box of beers she was buying for her boyfriend. The Checkout supervisor walked over. He was about 23 and f*ck all but had a big ego. He asked to see ID for the beers. My GF's sister handed over hers (she's 25). He said 'I will have to see all of your ID's'. I laughed and told him I wasn't with her we just walked up and said Hi. He refused to budge and said he wouldn't sell her alcohol unless he saw my ID even though it wasn't for me and I wasn't shopping with her.

I was still wearing my gym singlet, pecs still pumped from the chest train and said to the guy 'Are you serious, I'm 29, have you ever seen a 17 year look like this?'. I didn't have my wallet on me. He played the wanker card and walked off with the beers. I fucken laughed. What a tool. Managed to keep my cool pretty well even though I was fuming on the inside. Not easy when you're on low carbs and dieting

Anyway, got my bodyfat done today by my nutritionist. My skinfolds were 19mm over 4 points which amounts to 8.0% Bodyfat. Waist has come in to 31" (which is very good for me \:D/ ). I'm very happy with the progress I'm making despite doing next to no cardio (just the odd 45 min walk in the evenings). It's all in the diet. We decided to keep things going the way they are and reassess at the next weigh-in in 2 weeks.

Strong sessions bro. Shame about that glute and hip flexor though. I know the feeling of old injuries lingering though. Just gotta superset like leg extensions with squats or something to get that tension; which sucks when all you wanna do is squat the whole fucken planet.

Hmmm, as for the age thing, I dunno man you're a bit smaller than me  jk. What a douche. And that waist, for how big you are  good shit

Sounds like training is coming along great despite that set back... bummer only doing 6 with 225

As for the guy with his ID issues... bro you have to laugh about it and feel sorry for him. That will be the story he runs with the rest of his skinny life... "should have seen me back in 2012 when I was a superviser at woolies.. I wasted this huge guy who was trying to buy alcohol without ID, those were the days!"

good going mate, that waist size is unreal you must only be an inch or two at most away from that in your leg size. Sounds and looks like you're right on point at this stage, keep up the good work

I'd recommend a masseuese but not sure she could get right into your muscle to resolve it, better grab a big burly girl or guy for that job!

Mate, looking SHARP and youve still got a good length of time to really come in diced. Thats the ideal way to ensure you come in looking great on comp day, getting in shape early!

Easier said than done but it looks like all the discipline over the holiday season is paying off big time. Thats generally the difference between being a good competitor and a great one.

Stay the course and you will destroy your previous conditioning from last year in Auckland. 31" waist is impressive on a guy with your LMM, especially considering your thighs must be in the upper 20" range?

Stay hungry and you will reap the rewards of all the hard yards you have been putting in over the summer. Best of luck for the comp season, I am thinking this will be a big year for you in NABBA/WFF both locally and offshore.

Your quads have quads that have biceps. Hopefully when you come in as shredded as possible, those biceps will have abs.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, you look better now than what you've looked in any of your comps. and I still think there is a lot more to strip off, especially with the water manipulation.

Just remember, you're already bigger than pretty much everyone in NZ, you can risk losing a bit of muscle (I know, no one said anything about this) with the trade-off of having better conditioning. Look sharp though, bro. Keep hard at it.

Looking awesome man! Definitely my pick for every show you enter...

unless I am in it......

Man you talk a lot of smack for someone who hasn't posted any progress pics since 2001 :pfft:

Nah all good bro, really looking forward to getting on stage with the master. I'm open to shows in Sydney if you wanted to do one there later in the year too.

Chiselled as hell bro. I notice you say abs are your least favourite part to train yet your midsection is ripped as. Do you always use bodyweight for reps to work abs or do you occasionly use added weight? And what sort of rep range and sets do you typically stick to?. Some people tell me to use weight some say stay away from it. Whats your thoughts? I just dont want to get a thick waist.

Thanks Rod-Dog, my mid section was always pretty decent from doing 1000 situps every night when I was a teenager (yes I used to be aesthetic lol).

I very rarely do direct ab work, maybe once a fortnight, a bit more leading up to comp though. It's mainly just body weight stuff - hanging raises, windscreen washers, planks, jack knifes etc. Sometimes I will do weighted blowjobs (rope behind neck) or weighted situps. Tend to keep each exercise to around 3 sets of 12-20 reps.

I stay away from DB side bends and similar stuff. Don't want to thicken my waist.

So take from that what u will, interestingly my tp does a lot of ab work yet his abs aren't really prominent even when he's shredded.

Chest session tonight. My gym gave me a tub of Mutant Pump to try out so I popped them before I trained along with a half serve of Hemo Rage.

Warmed up on the bench with sets at 60kg, 100kg and 140kg

First working set at 150kg - did 10 reps

Second set was 155kg - did 8 reps

Third set was 165kg - did 5 reps

Then I moved onto the incline DB press and used the 100lb DBs (gym owner promised me he's going to get me bigger DBs really soon.

Did 3 sets of 25/20/20 reps with dropset to 50lb for 10 on last set

3 sets of DB flies with 50lb DBs - 12 reps per set

3 sets of machine flies - 12 reps w 165lb. Had to drop weight to 135lb on last set towards the end to get my reps. Chest was swollen and hard to push together by this stage

Finished with a 21 set on machine bench with 250lb (7 bottom ROM, 7 top ROM, 7 full reps)

All in all a pretty decent session considering where I'm at with dieting. I'll keep trying these Mutant pump pills cos strength and muscular endurance seems to be good with them.
