What angle do you do all your incline on bro? Standard 45degrees?

Yeah bro, standard 45 degrees

Did the incline DBs the other day before flat bench and managed the 60s for a full set of 10

Trainings still going great. Hitting PBs on most of my lifts including squatting 260 for 4 then widowmaker of 140kg for 32 reps :puke:

I weighed in at 114kg yesterday. I start my pre comp diet on Monday

Here is a pic of me trap bar style deadlifting 360kg yesterday.

Looking forward to being ripped up again YEEHAA

What? I thought leg extensions and lying leg curls was a an awesome leg workout SM? :pfft:

Thanks for the comments guys. Im not sure which comp my next one will be. I've started my comp prep diet as of today so I will gauge it as I come down. I'm not carrying too much extra to be honest so if there's a Nabba or IFBB show on the east coast over in Aus or maybe one in Auckland around late July / August, that will probably be my next comp. Just want to peak around Mid Oct for the nationals on both side of the Tasman. Just started working for a major supplement Chain over here so fingers crossed I get some extra help from them. More details as it evolves.

Tonight was BACK

Tried Mesomorph for the first time ever today. Actually first pre workout atom in a couple of months. Man was I fizzing. First day of the diet too so I needed something lol.

Started with widegrip chins to warmup, couple of sets of 10 reps slow strict and squeezed. Felt like I could have done 30 odd but saved the energy for the deads.

Loaded up the deadlift bar and went through several warmup sets. Thought I'd make top set 240kg. Pulled 5 reps relatively easy so thought f*ck it I'll go 6 plates which is my PB.

Got stuck into it and pulled first rep pretty solid. Still had gas in the tank AO went for a second. Easier than the first so went for the third. Was wobbly but ground it out. So 260 x 3 is my new PB. I think putting slot more leg drive in from the start has unlocked a new level of strength. Happy with my progress here.

Moved into rack pulls with trap bar shrug machine thing. Did 3 sets of 8-6 with 320kg. No idea what the equivalent would be on a barbell but felt heavy lol.

Seated cable rows with stack 12/12/12/12/18

Widegrip lat pulldowns 3 sets of 12 @ 120kg

Few sets of cleans up to 110kg

Back stretch and done

As Harry was saying in his journal Rookie, your strength is what you make of it while your cutting. I can generally keep it close to 100% until The BF drops right down or I start depleting. No need tp drop the weight or go to high reps just cos your dieting. The way I see it, the muscle moves the weight, not the fat so as long as I'm burning just fat, not muscle, I should be able to keep pushing the same weights.

Tonight I trained Quads at Worlds Gym in Ashmore. More of a hardcore bodybuilder style gym than my regular which is very pretty boy.

3 squat racks but they were all full when I turned up. Not a bad thing I thought. Warmed up on the leg press for 5 or 6 sets at arpund 4/5pps before a squat rack became free.

Warmed up with sets at 20kg, 100kg, 180kg then first working set was 260kg. Cranked out 6 reps all to depth, all with grunts, belt only. Started to get a bit of a following so popped on an extra half plate each side and did a single at 280kg. One of the PTs filmed it so hopefully get a link to it online this week for the journal. First time doing 280 out of wraps, actually felt like I could have done another rep or 2 pretty easy but didn't wanna bail on the film so left it ;)

Went and did 5 sets of 18-21 leg extension at full stack

Lying leg curls 3 sets of 21 @ 3/4 stack

Walking lunges with the 45kg DBs to finish. 3 sets of 18 paces. Glutes are feeling it now! Love to pop a couple of Voltaren right now but have vowed to stay off them after reading about how it stunts muscle growth :(

Had a ball up at World gym and met some pretty cool guys, and there are alot of mass monsters up there so will go more regularly if I can. A competitive training atmosphere breeds results so they say.

Powerlifting comp is in less than 4 weeks so that means only 3 or maybe 4 leg trains till then to max out squat. Yeah Buddy!

  • 2 weeks later...

Thanks for the motivation guys!

Was feeling really good till early last week, was squat demoing at a gym. Got abit silly and squatted 6 plates for 5 completely raw. Really needed a belt as it has felt quite sore all week since then and deads suffered over the weekend. Felt gutted cos it didn't look like I would be able to do the PL next weekend.

But today I actually felt good so I gave it a test run.

Trained quads and Calves. Had a scoop and a half of Mesomorph before training and got stuck into it.

Warmed up in the squat rack to 4 plates then thought I'd try a massive pyramid set down. 3 mins between sets so it def wasn't a drop set but it killed me.

It went:-

260kg x 5 reps

220kg x 12 reps

180kg x 21 reps

Then I literally collapsed on the ground. My hammies were burning, quads were cramping and bp and heart rate was so high I thought I was going to explode. Never felt so good hahaha.

After a 5 min recovery I went and did leg extensions which is like a recovery exercise after squats. Did 4 sets of 18 @ full stack (140kg)

Moved onto the hack squat and did 4 sets of 2pps 12/12/12/18

Attempted to do walking lunges with the 40kg DBS, but a douchebag had 4 pairs of dumbbells all over the walkway so after doing one set of back and forward and nearly twisting an ankle to get around them I gave up.

Calf presses to finish. 5 sets of 21 @ full stack. Was thinking of doing 20 mins HiIT on the rower but that wasn't going to happen :)

Went home, protein shake, lay down in Bed and had a deep deep sleep for about 45 mins. Just woke up and Am waiting in bed while the missus is cooking me chicken thighs, potato and cabbage. Shes a keeper. She knows how it goes on leg days hahaha \:D/

Thanks guys and girls

Nice to see you back on here PnW's!

Been invited for a squat session at a powerlifting gym in Brissy next week, so should have a vid for the journal then :)

Today was Chest and Biceps

Started on Bench Press. No spotter

Warmed up to 2 pps then got stuck in

Went 150kg x 8 reps. Was easier than expected so jumped up for next set

Went 160kg x 5 reps. Dropped it back after this

Went 140kg x 11. Wanted 10 but thought id grind one more out

Dropset to 100kg. Did 12 reps. Dropset to 60kg and did 21 reps

Incline DB press was next

60kg x 8 reps

55kg x 10

55kg x 10

Dropset to 25kg and did 16 reps

Incline DB Flies

3 sets of 12/12/18 w 22.5kg DBs

Bodyweight Dips to finish

First set managed 32 reps

Second set only 21 reps

Biceps turn now. Quite often lately I've been getting a sore right bicep after benching, today was no different. Makes training biceps after quite painful but you get over it lol.

Started with seated high Bicep curls with the 17.5kg DBs. Did 3 sets of 18 reps

Next I picked up the big preacher bar and loaded 30kg per side. Weighed about 70kg all up.

Did standing barbell curls. 5 sets of 12

Then I did single arm preachers on the preacher machine. Did 3 sets of 12 on each arm at around 80lbs.

Finished on high cable curls. 3 sets of 15 with 70lbs a side.

Arms were mega pumped but lacked normal definition. Diet was absolutely shit today for a special reason, so weigh in read 112kg but I knew that was gonna happen, not too worried, I'll burn it off in the next couple of days.

Finished with 20 mins HIIT on rower and 10 mins treadmill walk at full incline
