What do you think - does NZ have a similar problem, or is this simply a result of the Gold Coast's preoccupation with body image?

I dont think New Zealand has this problem.. Steroids are alot easier to get in Australia! "The lebo guy down the road who sells buds also sells steroids" that aint the case in this country..

If you aint in the know they can be pretty hard to get!

I would like to see the survey questions. Was it asked specifically if they were using Anabolic Steroid Injections or was it just worded Anabolic Steroids because as we know there is a vast difference in using orals vs injectables. There are obvious implications of a street seller pawning off something encapsulated or in tab form in comparison to kids actually doing the real deal. I would expect its something like this. It does sort of follow on from what was supposedly going on in US High Schools over recent years that gave the Senate a reason to crack down on imports & UG Labs in the States in operation Ord. Expect things to tighten up in Australia & New Zealand.

Yeh we have a similar problem here in the UK with younger teens trying orals.

Gym 3 times a week for two weeks then it becomes a: This is too much like hard work, I'd rather sit at home & take em mentality....

But to all intents & purposes if they're asked, have you taken steroids then they'd answer yes..

Very few follow a strict diet & training regime, even less of the majority go on to inject, but those that do, seem to then be in for the duration...

Its a bit like gym members in general, how many sign up for a year & actually come regular enough to reap the benefits?

How many that do, follow a diet & exercise program..

How many of those do it correctly..????

Its all about how you interpret & present statistics, as far as the news media is concerned they dont have the best record on fact presentation.............

But they create sensationalist headlines with manipulated data & legislation gets passed............. We get pissed off....

Drugs are a major part of kids lives like it or not...

Kids will always like to follow the latest trend, keep up with their mates, or be the first to try something new....

Steroids are just a small part of that world, education can play a part, but how many kids listen........... I know mine dont..!!

If its there, & their mates try it there's a likelyhood they will.....

Image is everything to kids wherever they live....

So if there are stuff out there to (in their opinion) enhance that image then of course they will try it..............

I suppose it all comes down to availability.....

I can speak from a personal opinion in Waihi, there are none there...

So dont go there..........!!!
