Two weeks out! Not long now.

Looking in good form, cant wait to see what comp day brings. Whats the POA for numbers?

thanks mate! numbers....i have in my head what i should do and then i have what ill prob do :D for squat and deads, bench is more clear cut, really want to hit comp pb's on 2nd attempts then go for gold on 3rd, but kinder hard

Squats: what should do : 230/245/255pb - but the thing is i really want to have a crack at 260 which could be touch and go, but i dont want to be left with a 2nd that isnt a pb so ill prob go for the dream result: 232.5/252.5pb/260, dont really like taking 20kg jumps but it will have to be done, only prob is here how much energy ill use on the 252, so will have to wait in see on the day.

bench: 147.5/155pb/160 - something like that

dead: really just want to knock over the 240 but that doesn't quite fit into my plan of 225/237.5pb/245 which i would love to do, but might end up being 220/235/240 just to bank the 240 finally!! but again i want that pb on 2nd, but not keen to jump straight to 240, but whats 2.5kg? faaarkk!!!

but of course all this could change, depending on the day and how the lifts are feeling so helpfully total around 645 - 660 odd long as i beat 637.5 from last comp ill be happy

232.5kg solid opener mate  just dial in that set up no errors... PB's all round mate 8)

light weight budddy light weight, although when it rolled over my head the other night didnt feel to light :pfft:

Squat n bench

Bw:94.2  faaaark emergency cutting phase under way

Squat belt n wraps on top set

10x60

5x100

Prog sets:

5x115

4x135

3x160 - 2sets

2x190 - 5sets

Good squats tonight pretty effortless really

Bench

3x60,70,90,100

1x120,120

Shirt on:

140x2, 147.5, 150

No troubble here, At this stage was thinking shirt seem to be quite loose today, so striped it down to 100kg and just let it ride up and sure enough I got a easy touch at 100kgs  might open on 110 to throw fellow competitors off the scent then jump to 150 odd lol

Shirt off

10x100

2board: 5x110,120,120,120

Then just 4x10 dips and 4x8 chins just walking back and forward.

Good.

last dead sess prep comp - "getting serious on the dead"

bw:93.2kg

Deadlift (95%): 1x2 @ 232.5 kg - in squat suit

Speed deadlift (70%): 3x3 @ 172.5 kg (120 sec rest b/w sets)

Power shrugs (75% of current): 2x5 @ 177.5 kg

Stiff-leg deadlift: 2x5

Bent over row: 2x5

Underhand (reverse) grip lat pulldown: 2x5

Arched back good morning: 2x5

few power clean.

again very solid dead session, really feel im actually starting to make some progress now, not trouble on top set nice and fast, i think im just gunna have a crack at 240 on 2nd attempt now, gotta get that monkey off my back, then anything after that is a bonus, but after busting ass on squat and bench we will have to see whats left in the tank.

deads done now for this round, week and a half rest now should see the body ready to roll! will just do a casual squat opener on friday and bench monday fallowed by a few curls or something on weds.

2 @ 232.5, definitely make 240 the second bro, you'll nail it.

IN!

squats

Plan: to work up to an "easy" opener......

10x60,80

5x100

3x120,140,160, 180, 180

suit on straps down:

200

straps up, suit fresh out of the wash feeling nice in sturdy, like new

220 - some kind of pause squat

232.5 (planned opener) x 0 sheeet just when you think you are starting to get the gear under control  it owned me hard, went flying forward then back then down, so had to go a again as didnt want my last proper squat before comp to be a pinning

232.5x1 - hit the spot good this time, not perfect but good enough to put my mine at ease, as i know once more weight is added to the bar tech gets a lot cleaner, just gotta get a nice clean opener then go from there, may drop weights down 5kgs to just grab a nice pb, but will play it by feel on the day, READY!

few walk outs at 260

incline bb

5x60,60,70,80,90,92.5,92.5,92.5

med grip: 10x80 - 5 sets

LETS GO

last week - goal casual bench opener

bw:94.8  will have to pull out some water toward the end of the week, not to worried but not ideal........

but now over worrying about bw so after this comp im just gunna let the body do what it wants, as holding under 93 is not natural for me as iv been over 95 since 3rd form, ill prob level out around 98, dont want to be a full 105 as iv just bought 3 new pairs of jeans that are already pretty "fitting" so i dont think they would handle over the hundy

tonight -

bench

to 120 then added shirt - such a muppet as i forgot to wash it and tighten it back up  but will just leave it as is for this comp, should still pb

140x3 - 2 b

147.5 - comp lift

150 - comp lift

all easy will open on 150

deads

4x2x60%

some light cg bench and chins to fin

feeeelin gooood. few squats weds then game time.......

Nail it this weekend bro! Look forward to seeing the results

And over 95 since third form, that srs?

thanks mate, yea i grew early like an islander and used to just domernate at code then everyone eles caught up haha and my dreams of been pro rugbhy were shot :? i remember been 94.8 at weigh in in 3rd form, fatter than now but, not overly, then sat around 103-106 down in otago rugby acd days

final work out

bw: ummm i think my home scales are abit heavy as the arrow was on the wrong side of 95  but id say mornng weight prob around 94.5ish.....gunna take some work to make weight, just hope it doesnt effect performance  such a Muppet letting it get away on me in the last minute!!!!

anyway.....just 3x3@60% squat and bench, few light gm's, kb swings and 80push ups

already pumped for next phase of training, its called STRONGFIT yeooooow

READY!

the arrow was on the wrong side of 95

Given your typical diet and food you have access too, I'm still shocked your not a SHW already  95's a bloody good effort in my opinion, plenty of will power I'm sure. Drop a little bit of water and then sack back some powerade and you'll be fine  All the best for Sat mate.

haha its a about fine eats in moderation

Leave no Doubt this weekend RM

no doubt was given 8)

pre comp

jump on home scale thurs morning...still sitting just over 95, but pretty sure these scales weigh abit heavy as we just got them and had nothing to compear them against, but it was time....EXTREAM CUTTING PHASE....but at what cost? 2 and a half days near no carbs and light cardio work, the closest thing i will ever come to been a bodybuilder......comp day snuck in to weigh room in morning 92.7 in my jeans BOOM!!! but after a few nerves and strong coffee time resulting in a few trips to the loo....

NORTH ISLAND CHAMPS COMP DAY

BW: 90.45  think i may of taken my 2 day cut abit to far hahaha

unsure how the body was going to be after last few day decided to drop numbers a tad for safety

squat

1st: 230kg - good - standard opener

2nd: 250kg - miss- prob the best rep id ever done in the suit, it was so clean and fast i shocked my self and in my dazed state i racked it before the call  but the ref kinder throw the dummy as his has signalled rack before he call it!!! not to worry

3rd: 255kg good - 5kg pb - really wanted to have a go at 260 but after 250 cock up i though id play it safe and bank a pb, strange squat went down lot slower than norm as really wanted to make sure off it, bit of a grind but no worries!

Bench - not the best warm up here, seems on shirt started to split open and though me off and ended up pinning me 10kgs under opener weight!! but just forgot about it and moved on

1st: 150kg - good - standard opener

2nd: 155kg - miss - my own fault again!! side spotter on 1st side lifted off as well and left me in a funny spot, but instead of re-racking i just went for it.....and got pinned

3rd: 155kg - good - 2.5kg pb - hit the spot and smoked it

deads (my major goal of the day to finally get that bloody 240!!!)

1st: 230kg - good[/b ]- standard opener good speed

2nd: 240kg  - good - 5kg pb YEOOOW, pretty quick too!!

3rd: 250kg miss - lock it out but lost out on a 2 to 1 call, little bit hitchy in there, but bloody happy to get it up, will smash it next time....deads are on the move love it!!

650kg - 12.5kg pb and gain on this 8 weeks block, modest gain but ill take it, slow and steady 8)

great trip great day, huge chur to our ever growing cbc crew, lifters and support team tooooo much!!!

some good highlights: u83 lifter owning 295 squat with ease and 200 bench , all the record smashing from out cbc girls!! the old boy panzer having a blinder, with plenty lift in the tank and seeing 390kgs on the bar YEOOOOOOOOWW!!

done.
