Aussie budget gym hits Kiwi shores

$23.94 a month?

Nah man that article's wrong. I've got one of their rate cards and it's $23.95 FORTNIGHTLY. The reporter made a fcukup. Jetts is probably kicking someones arse right now fielding people wanting a $24 membership.

The cheapest rate they do is $19.95 FORTNIGHTLY per family member if you join as a family (not sure how many people that entails).

Plus a $99 Initiation fee (I assume this is just another name for spending 5 minutes with you showing you were the changing rooms and lat pull down machine is as with most gyms), and a $25 fee for your membership card, plus some sort of gay-arse last months fee whatever that is. Doesn't sound too Budget to me.

Shit, nice catch.

That is a pretty big fuckup on the reporters part. Though I just re-checked the article. It has been changed now.

It's pretty cheap for a 24hour gym membership plus no contracts so you can cancel your membership whenever.

I spoke to one of the p.t's - dumbells only go up to 40kg I think and they don't have any olympic bars. All hammerstrength machines.

If its sufficient for your training goals then have a look, me personally I use an olympic bar most workouts - mainly for trunk twists lol

not so sure MOST gyms need to reduce there prices to be fair? maybe the big francises could do with a rev up, but from what i gather, most private operations don't exactley make heaps as it is?

I hope this doesn't take too much away from the good gyms that are close to the edge already? Theres been a few close down in the past couple of years.

Sounds pretty similar membership fees to Snap Fitness Centres which are a subsidary of the Quest Group. They have one 24 hour gym in CHC with similar "health club" facilities. It has been pretty popular from all accounts. I did hear that Jetts were going to do around 30 gyms in NZ.
