Beef's Progress Pics

Ok to get back to Beef's pics, firstly Beef I would like to say good on you for putting these up. It takes a lot of courage to do this. Obviously you are quite a big guy. What are your goals? If you are wanting to bulk up you may need to look at your diet & training program - intensity, cardio etc. It would be my suggestion to try & hold where you are but lower your BF levels. This is a difficult ask but one if achieved will show you where you need to improve areas in your physique. Small steps with small goals is the way to go. ie like loose 2 belt holes in 6 weeks, things like that.

cheers for the comments, musclenz. much appreciated. :D

it's hard to believe looking back that I was 60 kilos 3 years ago at age 15

currently I'm training 6 days a week, alternating between heavy and light days. I make sure that I'm training each muscle directly twice a week (one heavy day and one light day). Intensity is real good, doing a lot of drop sets & eccentrics. I'm not doing any cardio at the moment as I'm still trying to bulk. I would be keen to get my skinfolds done, but I'd have to pay for it as my gym doesn't measure it for free anymore. My waist is 36" at the mo, don't know if that's a rough indicator of bf% or not.

goals? I'm in the process of deciding whether I want to go down the BBing route or opt for PLing, really can't make my mind up. Ever since I started working out I've been trying to train for both strength and size at the same time, and it's not really working to combine the two any more as I've hit plateaus in a few of my lifts.

overall still hitting the gym hard, and am still noticing natural gains three years since starting :)

Mate - wish I started that young. Over 100kg at 18 is good going. Can definately see your progress. Well done.

Quick bro - edit your post before steak and OB use there mind tricks to secure your soul!!!!! :shifty: :pfft:

....

MNZ has given you some good advice in encouraging you to try and maintain the same weight while you try and drop you bf. As an alternative to measuring your BF as a key measurable - I personally go off body weight / waist measure and the weights on the bar dring training. For me thats the best guage. Caliper tests are unreliable and can give you the occasional false measure.

You have a good base man .... and plenty of time. Awesome :)

so your 230lbs atm ? what are your goals for this year.

yeah weighed in at 106 kilos today.

my goals are set out in the first post of my journal, except that I've already reached my squat and deadlift goals. my lifts aren't too strong yet (considering my weight) . right now my 5RM for the big lifts are

-95kg bench

-145kg deadlift

-120kg squat

-55kg OHP

aiming to increase them to

-110kg bench

-170kg deadlift

-140kg squat

-65kg OHP

My bench is lagging quite a bit behind, but I'm not going to use the long arms excuse

Your over 100kgs you can aim a lot higher than those lifts.
