Sup all.

Who here has had experiences with Salmonella? I got owned when I woke up on Sunday.. Had all the symptoms, worst feeling EVER! I hope I never have to go through it again. LOL ironic how I was talking shit about vegetarians huh :pfft: serves my ass right! LOL

I THOUGHT I cooked the chicken properly.. Guess I was mistaken.. Never again will I make the same mistake :naughty:

Feeling better now thankfully..

If you have had salmonella in the past, how long did it last you?? And what were some effective ways to speed up the recovery process?

Cheers.

Haha that's ok Ann! As long as your husband cooks the food good..!

HONESTLY Ann, this is THE WORST experience of my life. I SWEAR. I mean, each their own but man... Like if death was an option, I would take it... But I have bodybuilding goals which basically saved my life  :pfft:  (jk jk)

Like, HARDOUT chills... nausia, migraine, diharria like atleast 10 x a day or even more (tmi lol) and wow... honestly.

Thatwaslight: worst days of your life because of the symptoms or because of the weight loss... Lol - Yeah I've definitly lost weight I can tell.. I haven't even posed or looked in the mirror because I know I'll be depressed... LOL!

What's funny is that not just chicken contains it?? Heaps of stuff.. Once I get better, going to throw out all my food and buy fresher food jus to be on the safe side.... Honestly it's NOT worth experiencing again.. PERIOD.

But I guess sometimes this stuff just happens..

yo bro what did you do to stop the experience thatwaslight? I think I'm like 90% better now.. I hope by tomrrow my stomach cramps will go away..

PERFECT timing.. Got exams next week.. LOL! I miss the gym too.. fml.

It could possibly be that you both ended up experiencing Campylobacter and not Salmonella. Most people who become ill with this get diarrhea, cramping abdominal pain etc. If it was this, and by the sounds of things it may certainly be, this illness normally lasts for a period of one week. Eating undercooked chicken is the most normal source of this. Its important to make sure that poultry is cooked well, there are plenty of horror stories out there.

Or... I could loan you my husband to cook for you, but then there would be no bugger to cook for me.

Thatwaslight: Hey thanks man.. Appreciate it.. It feels good to have someone to know the agony eh.. LOL! Yeah bro, been sipping on water and eating vitamin C stuff hard... Definitly the weight loss sucks but for some reason all I can think about is trying to get better, not concerned about what I lost... I'm a firm believer in muscle memory :D - Thanks bro, I hope I do get better, hoping tomorrow is the day..! Lmao at ostrich meat. :pfft:

Ann: It could be? Either one mate I don't ever want to experience it again LOL! It's such a waste of training time and study or anything else you want to do... A week!? :S Jesus I hope not... I don't have time for a week.. -_- .. My fault man.. I'm a risk taker... (when it comes to eating food lmao.) next time I'm gonna cook the meat until it's charcoaled... nah kidding, but bloody make sure it's cooked.....

Hahaha, keep him Ann.. You seem to be doing well in your training thanks to his cooking skills lol!

Salmonella! Been there done that!

Got it from some iffy food that was supplied at a softball training camp I was helping out with for my club. Lasted a week, and I lost 9 kilos. A week of torture. Other guys in my team recovered in 3-4 days because they went to the doctor and their doctor recognized it as salmonella and gave them some medication. The doctor I went to consulted her "Medical diagnosis for dummies" book and couldn't decide so took blood samples and various other things. By the time the doctors got back to me with the result, I had already been informed by the health board as they were ringing around everyone involved with the training to see how many got sick. Once I got medication I came right reasonably quick. Well, the symptoms went away pretty quick, but took a few more days before energy levels returned. Not fun.

However, as a result of not being able to sleep and just lying there watching CNN between trips to the toilet, I watch the whole 9/11 thing unfold live!

D-Rock: Thanks for sharing your story bro.. Lol! Damn 9 fucking days?? Not cool...

Checked my measurements and I've definitly lost.. :( Though not much thankfully!! :D..

I'm feeling much better than last night but again, not 100%. Though no excuse not to study... ;) *sigh*

Just went and gave stool sample and blood test to confirm it is salmonella but could be the things that Ann said. Either way.. NOT cool.. Glad I'm not the only one who thought it was a harsh experience.. I thought I was being a lil bish

Being crook fullstop whatever it is, is a royal pain in the arse! I been outta the gym for the past week and it's driven me insane! I hate not being able to train, I get grumpy and figetey and feel guilty as hell and the worst thing is that you REALLY wanna train but your body just won't allow it. GRRRRR

But thank god I'm better now and back to my 2nd home tonight oh YEAH!!! \:D/
