Hey all

Been to the gym this morning an yesterday. The first couple of gym sessions I felt like I had actually done something. I could feel all my muscles hurting.

But the last few it doesn't really feel like I have been doing much even though I have been doing more than when I started.

This morning for example

My workout consisted of

Benchpress

Quick warm up 25 reps @ 20kg

Then 10 reps @ 50kg

8 @ 60kg

6 @ 70kg

Before I my break from the gym I managed to do 2 @ 80kg but it's a bit hard to try without a spotter.

Then Squats

10 @ 60kg

8 @ 80kg

6 @ 100kg

Military shoulder press (at least that what I think it is)

10 @ 25kg

8 @ 30kg

6 @ 35kg

Deadlifts

10 @ 60kg

8 @ 80kg

6 @ 100kg or 90kg I can't remember now.

But yea I feel a little bit nautious while working out, drinking about 1.5 to 2 litres of water while at the gym.

An other than feeling a little bit sore around the shoulders from the squats I feel like I could go an do it all again no hassles.

Any ideas?

Thanks heaps

u might think it was easy now, but aint u suposed to add more weight next time around? imagine in a month or so how much more weight you could be moving, and how much more stress the body will be under.

Also to me that sorta looks like 2 working sets cos the first is alot lighter than the folowing two. sum1 with more exp may like to coment on that tho.

Its like when i recently did 5x5. the first few weeks seemed like it wasnt all that chalanging, but later down the track i was like

keep progressing

Good to see you're focusing on the big lifts. When you first start you are going to be in a lot of pain (it was rediculous for me getting back into it) but then your body becomes more accustomed to being put under stress and you won't get as sore. In saying that though you should be in a decent amount of pain over the next day or two after your workout. You have a different program set-up to me (I thrash a different body-part each session) but if I were to make a suggestion I would say you need a lot more worksets in your program. I can't give much more advice than that without knowing your full program.

A workset is where you are performing the maximum number of reps you can for the weight you are using. You are only doing like 1 workset for each exercise. You don't need more compound movements, most people do a big compund movement first and follow it with a whole lot of assistance work. I would recomend following a good pre-made workout until you get a lot more experience. If you want a strength program give Stronglifts 5x5 a go or if you want to make a custom pling routine give this a read http://www.weightsnet.com/Docs/barry.power.html
