I'm the opposite of you i have Pectus Excavatum, (sunken in sternum) you have pectus carinatum (pigeon chest).

For me i have always found it hard to isolate my chest in most pressing movements and my theory is that it could be due to the fact that my chest is seated so low it means my shoulders take over; so in your case i would think having a chest that sticks out cant be all bad news.

Go hard

Hey mr krabs.

Yep your right i should be going to by GP to ask but atm didnt have the money to just ask him about that so thought would give it a try on this forum and my question was answered by "thatwaslight" so no need to go to a GP in the end cheers anyway mate!

Hey xFluent, good on you for getting into training.

First up, don't think any advice you get here can substitute proper medical advice. For what it's worth, I agree with TWL - you should be fine - but then, neither of us are doctors!

Also, I'm not sure how much a GP could help you either. It's quite a specialist question, and you might be better talking to a physio or osteopath who'll have more of an idea of the biomechanics involved. My sister's studying her final year of osteopathy now - I'll see what she says.

medical confirmation is the way to go however a lot of therapists are getting online and discusssing this as far as i am aware the actual muscles have not been affected just the underlying bone structure here is a link to start your researching

Bro whats funny is im pigeon chested and my name is also Levi.

I've never had a problem with benching in my condition, in some ways it actually makes your chest look fuller LOL. Just go hard as all you're really doing is building and strengthening the surrounding muscles.

P.s

Also dont be fooled by my avatar, that was me at 130kg a year ago, Im now 98kgs and 13% body fat. I'll post some pics up soon as im new to this site...
