old fella - Thread Wrap Up

your looking good oldfella

Your bodychemistry (read mood ) may benefit from a bit more good fat in each meal. Perhaps add in 1/2 Tbsp olive oil (can be light olive oil if you dont want as strong a taste) to each meal, except breakfast.

Be aggro in the gym when attacking the heavy sets but make sure you leave it in the gym- you've got to keep wifey happy if want to do more cycles. i find giving mine a massage once a week works well

cheers. The way the weight was going I was getting tempted to compete.

Funny, the chick in the health shop said omega 3 also helped moods. Learn something all the time. I'll go with the olive oil for now.

Generally not bad by the time I get home, too knackered to be grumpy, plus a good session always brings things right. It sure doesn't pay to piss off the best support team you can ever have.

Small experiment last night. Popped a dbol 2 hours before a leg workout. 1/2 turbo 30 mins prior.

Felt like my body was being pressurised during the next couple hours. Had a buzz on heading to the gym. Began on leg press and when under load felt like my head was gonna explode. Had to breath a bit more often to try and relieve it. Considering 2nd week back on real weights managed 280kgs.

Then onto squats where it did pay off. Being a wee fella and not a fan of squats my PB was only ever 100kgs (assisted). Managed to knock out 5 at 100kg (unassisted) on the 4th set before failing. Was meant to be spotted but the dude just stood there. Glad I put the safeties in.

3 sets lunges with 18kgs DBs, 3 sets leg ext.

Got to 50kgs on seated leg curl, 55 on lying leg curl, and 11 plates standing leg curl. All the most I've ever done.

So yep, it did do something but today I'm absolutely shattered. Will try for a half dbol and a turbo for chest today.

1/2 dbol, 1/2 turbo is a better amount. More clear headed than yesterday.

Appreciate hungry's advice but I get into a habit of legs Monday, chest Tuesday. Sore legs can't affect the chest. Wednesday is really the day off but I take the chance to concentrate solely on abs.

Weights were good but going for broke on incline DB left me a bit short of oomph for the rest. The bloody smith machine safeties are either 6 inches short of touching the chest or too far down. May have to go to City Fitness the odd time for a better bench session.

Tris went bloody well, much better than last week. So the "supps" definitely have their place pre workout but I'll only use them if I need a decent push. Don't want to wind up breaking body parts just cause I can push harder. Will never use them on back day as I can break things without them.

Begin the test / eq today. 1ml of each.

Did the dbol last night for shoulders and had a brilliant session. Really need to get these up to gain some width so made the session worth it. Due to taking dbol and having big sessions I wind up pretty sore the next day.

The other effect is I get absolutely knackered giving it so much more, that I sleep very soundly. Slept till 9:40 this morning (big shock for me) when week days it's 5:00am.

Had another good ab session mid week. 6 exercises, sets of 20, total 320 reps. Included weighted lying leg ups, weighted swiss ball crunch and almost the stack on cable crunch.

Max's - incline db press 38kgs, (want to get to 40 which was my previous PB assisted), flat fly 28kgs, seated shoulder press 28kgs PB.

Weight has gone from 81 up to 83. 2kgs for being back on cycle.

you're doing awesome oldfella! You're hungry to get to and surpass your previous PB's. Its awesome when you're feeling strong and lifting big weights and just wait till week 5 when the EQ kicks in for sure.

on a personal note i found my body grows really well when i have two meals of rump steak within 18 hours of the workout. I buy heaps when its on special and dice it up, add some seasoning and pan fry it in non stick pan with rice bran oil spray.

looking forward to next lot of progress pics

Mate, your an inspiration to those of us natural athletes that weigh more, lift heavier and look better.

I'm not trying to be a smart arse but it just proves to me that genetics, good diet, and hard training play a big part.

I'm also an old fella, been around the scene for many years and seen alot of bodybuilders come and go.

Bodybuilding is meant to be about balance. What I see most of the time is a very unbalanced lifestyle. Its very easy to be self centred and in the end very lonely, as people around you get sick of hearing about you and what you've done.

Anyway Old Fella, good luck and I guess we'll see you on stage this year?

Was going to wait till tomorrow to comment as I'm a bit stuffed, but what the heck.

Cocked up the gear this week. Meant to have 200mg EQ for the week but accidentally chucked it all in on Saturday so left it out last night. We'll call it an age thing.

Could have ripped a new black hole in the universe tonight. Psyched up all day, dbol and a turbo. Was determined to move some kgs. Not only the best shoulder session for a long time but just a bloody good session. Trained with a mate tonight and as we're a bit competitive, we gave it all. He's generally better at pulling exercises and me a bit on pressing.

Got him a few times tonight which helped.

PB on shoulder db press - up last week from 28's to 30's and had a go at 32's.

DB shoulder press

18 x 12

25 x 10

30 x 8 - PB

32 x 3 - had to try

Hammer Press

20 x 12

40 x 10

45 x 8 (got him here which annoys him)

40 x 6

Side lat raise - new one for me using 10kg plates. Lift them straight up and have to keep them flat all the way up. Great exercise.

10kg x 4 sets of 10

Rear lat raise

16 x 10

18 x 10

20 x 10

Shrugs on a machine I have no idea what its called

80 x 10

110 x 9

110 x 9

Single DB Curls

17 x 10

20 x 10

22 x 8

25 x 4 - PB

Ezy bar curls - prefer the straight bar

30 x 10

40 x 9

40 x 6

Machine curls - some new machine they have where your arm is supported sitting in an upright position.

Arms are gonna kill me tomorrow but it was one of those sessions so who cares.

Really looking forward to the BF check on Friday.

nice weights your using- Im keen to see your BF results.

keep your water intake up and dont eat anything salty in the 24 hours before as extra sodium will skew results

actually snack on some mandarins and that will bump up potassium and will help draw water into muscle where it should be

hope you dont mind me giving my 2c worth

Your advice is always welcome and appreciated.

Bugger, I like a bit of salt in my meals. Ah well, can flag it for a day if it helps. Mandarins eh, wouldn't mind a couple for a change.

I thought the forum was all about peoples different opinions but I guess I'm wrong.

I'm not sure how I could be shit stirring it was just an observation. Fact is TT, I probably know alot more about Old Fella than you, and would have advised him just to keep training hard, rather than taking the path he has.

As for only having 2 posts (3 now), so what? Its people like you, with having to use the F bomb, that put people off writing or giving their opinions. Nobodys right or wrong, just different.

I do how ever give Old Fella full credit for his dedication to achieving his goal.

You (TT) need to stop all your jibba jabba fool.

Mr T-

taking the path he has (oldfella) is more of an ethical argument than anything. Small doses of very common gear for 10-12 weeks is perfectly safe and very effective and the results are real (not just water retention).

If OF then stays off gear for the next 12 months and keeps his gains, is there an issue? Sure he did a course but who really cares?

Perhaps a part of you wishes to experience going on a cycle. Imagine training as hard as you do and gaining a kilo of muscle each week, and keeping it after you come off as you keep lifting the same poundage.

It also makes you feel youthful again which is a nice feeling when in middle age (no disrespect OF :D )

Checkup this morning.

BF - 13.5% (rated at the 20-30yr line) was 14.4%.

Weight 83.30 - was 81.2.

So up 2 kgs in weight and a 1% drop in BF. Gotta be good.

Arms increased again, couple cms drop in the waist, shoulders up, can't remember quads as he kept my log book for new exercises.
