Hello all

Quick intro - Just started a programme and loving it so far. I have always been fairly fit (cycle and run) but this is my first attempt at full on weights.

Trying to get the balance right of diet and workout seems to be the hardest part so far. Any ideas and thoughts from you wise bunch are most welcome!!

This is me so far... :D

Female

5'7

56kg

and so far

Monday - push/cardio

Tues - pull/cardio

Wed - cycle

Thurs - push/cardio

Fri - pull/cardio

Meal 1- Porridge /Natural yog and Banana smoothie or homemade museli (load of seeds , no sugar etc)

Meal 2 - 3-4 eggs

Meal 3 - Tuna and salad

Meal 4 - Protein shake

Meal 5 - chicken or steak and loads of veg!

Snacks - Fruit or nuts

I have cut out sugar and caffeine and mostly alcohol :oops:

Well apart from last night. Came to visit parents in Dunedin and Mum went to bar and brought me a coffee a red wine and a humungous piece of caramel slice - said she forgot! yeah right....I didnt sleep at all - sugar and caffeine high!! :shock:

Hi and welcome. If you want to reduce a sugar rush have some protein along with the cake or slice. Protein will reduce the body's insulin response. I would sneak in a protein shake right before going to a bar or coffee shop.

Hi and Welcome - sounds like you've got a sound foundation to build on.

One trick I use in bars is to order a tall soda water with lime... big glass, looks like a real drink but practically nothing in it to derail you, especially if they make it with real lime juice, not sugary lime cordial.

Where are you from and what are your goals?

That is a very question! And one I am trying to work out...my goals.

I dont want/or need to loose a lot of weight - I do want to be lean and mean tho. And basically change my body shape. Something Ive wanted to do for ages. A lot of people seem to talk about body fat % Should I find that out?

oh and btw Im in CHCH (originally a dunners girl)

Sounds like you need a decent weights program
