It's mind blowing to see the difference you've made in your physique in such a short period of time bro.

Smash this last week and a half and enjoy yourself on stage. It's not about beating Steve, no ones gonna do that, it's about knowing you've done everything you could have done to come in the best shape you could have.

Catch you up there and in looking forward to those post comp beers ;)

Last day of training in Hawkes Bay, apart from cardio tomorrow morning before the drive to my new whare in Auckland. Will attempt to drive quickly as I have arms to do when I arrive, before buying a fridge & microwave and unpacking my stuff into the apartment...... in that order! LOL :pfft:

Losing some good training partners in Cam, Alex, Ethan, Nick, Steve, Kori, Jason etc, but trainings looking good for Auckland.

See ya'll soon!

Wow...it's been 6 months since I posted here, luckily I've been slightly more consistent with training LOL :pfft:

Whats new....lots of off season training with other good bodybuilders, Android, Reuben, Kristian @ LM City, Steve C, Andy, Zac @ LM Taka, Dave, James @ Canty Fitness, Big Cam @ Angels, even had a PT session from Kagan in the weekend on legs!

Also did a wee bit of powerlifting...raw DL World record! but seriously nothing worth writing home about. Did some good raw squats (260 easily, but crushed by 280 no spotter! :pfft: ) before deciding to put these on backburner for a bit and get some hypertrophy going. Thanks to Big John, Geordie, Steak and Rach etc for the support & running the DL comp.

Been talking to lots of good BBers and learning heaps, (Hugh, Giselle, Lisa @ LM Taka, Grant, Hamish, Jake in the Tron, Eddie in Dunedin, Kat in Nelson, Dorian!!! , and the old guns like Geordie, Mike K, Gary J, Dave S, Frank B, etc).

I've swapped from high volume (20 working sets + per bodypart / 5 sessions a week) to an old Yates type programme at this stage and it seems to agree with me, although I also got good gains from volume.

Have put some good mass on (from 98 to 105 recently) and held this. Time for another leanish bulk before dieting begins for later comps.

Managed to get pretty strong again, 56kg DB for shoulder press, 560x15's on leg press, repping 140's on incline bench etc which are all good signs along with the rapidly changing physique.

Looking to do more training sessions with others who are keen to push hard at a fast pace. Preferably LM City / Taka although happy to go elsewhere for the odd train if it fits in with work etc.

Anyone keen holla.

6 weeks or so into diet mode, first month was solid gains (well losses!*biggrin*) dropping just over 5% bf and 12cm off my waist. Didn't realise how much I'd let my conditioning slip, just creeps up ya I guess!

Working with Jake Campus this time around and after 2nd assessment didn't need to change diet at all, just added a few extra BCAA's and an extra 5 mins cardio a day (just walking pre-breakfast 5 days/week atm). Very happy with progress so far considering no stims have been used yet and at week 6 the fats still dropping quickly.

Looking like I'll be slightly lighter on stage this year (maybe?) but aiming for 1.5% leaner than last years National's condition. Interestingly I've only been on scales twice in 6 weeks (at assessments) as opposed to every day last time around. Find it's one less thing to worry about.

Training's going well, 3 days / week in Blenheim (working 4-5 days/week there atm) and 2 days in Auckland. Gym's not quite as good down here but definately worth training in. Met a big man at City Fitness who is doing some work with Mark Anderson so hopefully train a few sessions there next week; tonight though it's legs with Darkmanx and his training partner.

May update with a picture after my next assessment if the coaches give the nod! *good*

Sounds great. Got alotta time for Jake he seems like a good guy. Although those no calorie foods never did me any favours at all! Bad

Looking forward to the results! Smile

LOL - anything wih too much artificial sweeteners can reek havoc! I'm pretty good with them now but still tend to eat too much gum & coke zero, but last time I found sugar free lollies.....instantly liquified my GI tract! *bad*

Discovered Avalanche sugar free hot chocolate last week. Not making it a reguar (only had one to date) but damn its good to taste chocolate after 5 weeks of none!

Jake's approach suits me very well, I'd recommend him to anyone looking to compete. Has a slightly different way of doing things to what I've done historically, I'm on a lot less calories (about 2000 as opposed to over 3000 last time) and less protein with a better spread of carbs throughout the day/evening.

Good leg session with Darkmanx and his young apprentice. Introduced them too poorman GHRs! Ahhhh it cramps lol but seriously impressive effort doing these at 130kg big guy!

After ghrs/hammie curls we did a few squats (well smith squats for me, legs out front to isolate quads) did a few at 200 so not too weak yet! Then some high rep leg press, nothing over 500kg and nothing under 15 reps. Calves n out.

Thanks again guys.

Nate

Yeah, cheers for letting us train with you. Those GHR's were pretty tough on the frame. Correction on the weight Nate, its 146kg. It was good fun training legs the way we did, its been a good 10 years since i last did full leg session at high reps like we did tonight.

I will be doing them hammy exercise for the foreseable future from now on. All and all it was a good training session and good to have a workout with someone that goes hard and heavy. You are GC Nate.

Had a good train at Club Physical Albany tonight. Lots of reps n sets to failure for chest, then some abs to finish up. Good to see Naera J there looking lean and mean. Also noticed a fair number of girls smashing weights hard there - good to see, maybe some doing their in house bodybuilding show?

Tried Craze pre workout tonight. Good stuff, first pump in over 6 weeks (damn low carbs!).

Great back session with Kristian Bray yesterday followed up by a blinder of a delt session down in Blenheim tonight. Using Side Effects as a pre-workout alternated with Craze, getting a pump again despite being depleted! Good times.

Found out I am ineligible to complete in Queensland champs as not an aussie citizen. Potentially look at doing a NZIFBB or Nabba Nac show in between my nabba-wff shows. To be decided.

Off to see Jake Campus on Thursday to check on progress - cheat meal please!

Did legs. Heavy leg press. Not a squat was done. Didn't count lol

600 for 2 x 10 not bad given my emaciated state atm. Some of the usual curls n extensions. DB lunges to failure killed me as a finisher.

Did some calves. Ate food....enough for a very small woman....

FTR Pseudo I'm so sore its rediculous today! :)

Checked in with Jake Campus yesterday - been 19 days since last catch up. Dropped another 2.6% and gained a little muscle mass, stoked! *music2*  Just doing walking for cardio and haven't touched any real fat burners yet so even better! (to date 7.7% drop in just under 9 weeks).

Can't recommend this guy enough, knows his trade for sure!

CRAZE and an ipod full of fresh sounds made for a great pre-workout! Absolutely obliterated my back, reverse lpd's, weighted close grip chins (40kg), ghetto t-bar rows, cable rows with all kinda plates n dumbells added on finished up with super strict lpd's and straight arm pulldowns.

Did pseudo's ab program again and two rounds of compulsory poses afterwards. Really feeling pre-contest mode now!
