Looking sharpe

Darren's in the tall class mate

Yeah - here's hoping we get to stand next to each other at some point - don't know if the outcome would be any different but we'd both be a truckload bigger than in 2000! :pfft: Hopefully I'll be catching up with him at the Expo at the Nutra Tech stall.

Looking good man, you'll definitely be bringing a lot better package to the stage come nationals.

Thanks man - thats the hope - last time was a rush to get on stage, and tho I looked quite good a week out (though still >6%) I managed to ruin a dry physique in 36 hours! :pfft: I'm hoping to get it right this time and show off the gains I've made.

On 15 April 2012 Supry helped me with a posing session and suggested some weak points to focus on. The priority was upper chest.

I've been smashing shit out of it mainly once per weak though for about 2 months I ran an extra light upper pecs session on the weekend. Lots of heavy incline flyes (Harry's advice to anyone lagging in chest area), incline bench & DB's, Incline Hammer Strength and targetted cable work.

Some results.

Cheers bro,

Will be a different physique to that at Chch thats for sure!

Will need to be to even stand on the stage - Darren is looking big & leaning fast, Nelly (in my height class) was still freaking enormous when I saw him Monday, and the usual suspects (Hamish, Kristian etc) will be getting better & better!

Should be an awesome day - can't wait to see the Pan Pacs on Saturday - I hear an ex-IFBB pro is stepping on stage?!

looking good.

can't say i think the upper chest is lagging. looks good to me. but what do i know

It was definately lagging in April - but it's come up heaps! Thx TM

yeah for sure man! what did you do to bring it up? i see you stated heaving incline flys along target cablework. what sort of rep range you using? i find heavy incline flys put alot of stress on my shoulders. Shoud I start with incline movements on my chest routine. any tips would be most appreciated. I have no upper chest :(

I do the first two exercises as Incline Compounds, going heavy 6-10 reps, 4 w/sets (incline flyes, inc db, inc bp, inc hammer).

Then 2 more chest exercises – third is usually a flat movement (flyes/db/bench) 8-12’s, 4 sets, then lastly cables or pec deck 10-15 reps 5 w/sets or so.

Was aiming for 20 w/sets all up previously but tough while dieting! Now my rule is up to 12 working sets on compounds and as many fluffy exercises as I like! :pfft:

In the off season I also added a light upper chest day where I did one cable exercise after a light flye/pec deck. Maybe 10 sets all up with no pressing etc. Unsure of value?

cheers for that will change things up. im not doing things terribly different but always train flat movements first ie bench then move onto the incline. did have little upper chest development but i suspect thats due to overall pec development. might do before after photos

You look like a different guy than the one I was on stage with in Chch. Unbelievable progress bro.

It will be interesting to see what class Nelly does. He was class 3 last year with me, I'm right on the border and chatting to him last week I could swear he has at least an inch on me lol. Maybe he'll try and avoid you after seeing your latest pics haha.

I'm really struggling to find a ticket to the pans bro so if you hear of any spares flick me a text, I'm in!

Struggling along...seriously....80 mins cardio a day x 7 days....getting withdrawl symptoms from not having a masculine bodyweight for so long now! :pfft:

Weights sessions still good, but fade quickly. Big ups to Cam Dawg & Alex for keeping me moving through the sets.

Roll on Burger Saturday...only 8 days or so! :)

^^ LOL - whats the song say bro, "feels like a midget hanging from my necklace" :pfft:

I attribute my traps & neck to living with Hercules Chain around my neck 24/7!

Thanks man - looks good, feels like ass! My journal title should be "Why I miss Powerlifting"...

Going hard on cardio and doing it tough! :?

Was hitting 50 mins a.m. cardio then 30 mins p.m. but have been trying to push that higher, now hitting somewhere between 50 - 60 mins a.m and 40 - 60 mins p.m. (or 30 mins HIIT Weds/Sun). Also hitting 10-15mins posing after weights and 30-40 mins Weds/Sun).

Weights sessions are feeling far from inspiring at the moment, but still getting 5 solid sessions in a week and doing as much as I can. Weights not down too much but motivation seems hard to come by! Luckily the Big Dawg Crew of Cam, Alex & Ethan are keeping me honest!

My sole aim is to tighten up a bit from Wellington and get on stage leaner, and a hell of a lot drier! We have got a plan in place so it just a matter of sticking to it and not doing anything silly (easier said than done on low carbs! :pfft: ).

I know I'm not going to be making the overall lineup with Steve Orton in my class, so it's all out for me in my 10 minutes on stage!!

I told my coach, Steve's the best amatuer in the country IMHO (bar Mark Anderson), so I just wanna bring the best package I can bring to the stage and look like I should be there when I stand next to him!

And I can honestly say I don't mind being beaten by a better bodybuilder, because I can honestly say I've done everything I can to bring my A-game! No one will beat me on the 6th of October because I cut any corners or didn't give it 110%

Bring it on!!! 8)
