Been too busy & no internet at home yet! :shock:

Trying to spend time in the gym at 110% and time outside with Lisa & the kids. Maybe in the future I will again, need to do some videos again too.

Good chest session last night, hit 150x8 flat then 150x6 second set (its on youtube on my channel if someone can link it in - damn work filters!). Did some good incline flyes, then steep incline bench followed up with blitz chain pressups. Biceps session next - nothing memorable.

Enjoying the bodyweight! :grin:

looks a bit dangerous almost if u fail ur gonna want to get forward pretty quick and hope u can get it back onto one of those pins. hard to fail with that box in the way. :)

Too light really to f*ck up. I'd just dump it forward if I had to. Got a feeling I did that with 260 a few months back! :pfft:

A Box squat doing touch and goes...what does it achieve that normal squats down that far and back up again doesn't Nate? Is it a "no-spotter available" exercise or is there something more going on

Yeah something more!

As you probably know PLers usually use boxes to pause a while on (I do this regularly) as it diminishes the stretch reflex (golgi organ) and makes recruitment of fibres tougher, which equals a harder squat.

I'm using boxes for a lot of things now just to set depth where I want it but more so to make me 'sit back into' the squat. I'm even doing my front squats with a box (often have partner remove after first two reps). The reason I've been doing this is because of the quad tendon tear I had (when I got a large 'anterior drift' when front squatting). Now my tendency is to be scared to sit back although this is contrary to what caused my tear!! Sitting back also doesn't load me up as much.

Hopefully be back to normal squatting with real weights soon, but until then Im not a PLer so I'll just keep training around the injuries.

I was thinking about implementing some squats onto a swiss ball.... is that similar or equal to the box? lol Don't punch me... I wouldn't mind having a crack at some box squats, just have to make sure there is someone who knows what I am supposed to be doing close at hand. Cos I'll be like.. "Nate does this much, so I have to do this much" (broken back!) lol

I wouldn't mind having a crack at some box squats, just have to make sure there is someone who knows what I am supposed to be doing close at hand. Cos I'll be like.. "Nate does this much, so I have to do this much" (broken back!) lol

Swissball be like hassock squats, where you sit onto something that compresses slighty (roll of carpet, foam block etc) on the box. Good for paused work.

As for my weights - just warm ups for you!

Wasn't deep though (similar to 220's in video) so not overly impressive by my own standards. Fun feeling some weight on the back again tho.
