  • 3 weeks later...

Been a while.... but been training okay despite adductor/lower ab injury, which after yesterdays scan proved to be a hernia! Yay.... surgery here we come! After Levi's Strongman Comp tho!

Had a good hit out at Pakuranga's Strongest Man Comp - did some events I'd never tried before - 56lb weight for distance, Overhead 80kg 'Braemer' stone throw etc. Did well in Farmers (60ish kg for 170ish metres), Tyre flip, Stones (fast to 139, 155 not today!). Awesome considering limited training & hernia!

Got the invite to Levi's comp in April & will run HB's Strongest Man late April. Then surgery, followed by another crack at Bodybuilding! Never thought it'd happen!

Training.... 28 Feb 2011

Leg Ext / Leg Curl - 20x120/15x80, 20x150/15x100, 20x150/15x100, 20x120/15x80, 20x100/15x60

Safety Squat High Box - 10x60, 10x100, 10x100, 10x120, 10x140, 10x160

GHR - 10, 10

DB Curls - 10x15, 10x25, 8x25, 10x20

EZ Preachers Narrow - 10x35, 6x50, 6x50

Calf raise - 30x20, 30x20, 25x20, 20x20

Poddypuilding here I come! :pfft:

You let the "out of shape strongman" comment from your mate get to ya? :poked:

Just kiddin', good to see mate will be interested to see how you get on. Thrown in BJJ?

I got the hernia doing BJJ, so unsure how wise it would be doing it again while still healing? I really enjoy it so who knows but in the meantime I got some mass to put on!

What's the down time from the op Nate and what bb comp you thinking of doing?

Back at work in 2-4 days, training in about a month (LOL give me 10 days!!).

I wanna get some size on - have neglected that with the strongman U105 weightclass - maybe another 10kg or so - and get on stage at close to 95kg (was 88kg last time, and 74kg previous to that). 100kg @ 5'9" would be nice but we'll see!

At this stage probably a NABBA/WFF one?

Nabba? Why not NZFBB?

I am sure the muscle will come on quick, just a change of thinking in terms of training.

NABBA-WFF not NABBA, as the latter has no real path to international comps (not that I'm anywhere near that standard but hey I got there in PLing & SM).

NZFBB is now NZIFBB, which I would consider doing but I like the one show format NABBA-WFF have after witnessing it in Australia under Mark Ryan.

Not into politics so will simply compete where I see the most benefit for me.
