I didnt realize what was going on in here!

Now that we have claimed u back tothe light side, Can we reclaim this journal back into the bodybuilding journals now instead of hiding in the PL dungeons  Actually maybe we should have a dedicated sub forum for competitive bodybuilders?

Seriously, going good Nate. Still holding mean strength even though dropping weight. Remember bb is all about the physique and not the weight. We need progress pics :pfft:

How do u think your physique will differ from last time u competed?

Strongman would have boosted your lats, traps and hammies considerably I'd imagine?

Yeah I'm as strong as I've ever been (no surprise as my muscle mass is as high as ever, just dropped a few % BF). I'm still doing a couple of SM comps (Levis invitational & maybe one other) before I truly turn to the shiny side.... oops did I say that out loud! :pfft:

My physique should be somewhat different - back thicker, wider, hammies & traps better. More focus will be needed on arms and delts though as well as calves. When I first competed I was 74kg on stage, 3 years later 88kg on stage. I'm hoping that if I hit the stage again I'll be more like 95kg. Time will tell.

i will be flamed for posting this, but .. .. .. kickbacks.. .. ..

teneka made me do these, strictly.. .. ..

light weight, but each rep you alternate between straight grip, turned in, turned out. if you keep going 'side to side' like this, i bet you that a little bitch weight will make you a little bitch

*awaits thong jokes*

Tricep kickbacks are a joke bro..... About as much value in them as Deano's arm rants..... :pfft:

awesome - have always wanted to do 180 for 12 but my legs fatigue quickly - (have a bit further to travel :) ) I have done heavier in low reps but 180 for reps is my nemesis.

Hey Nathan, you've had a few cage fights before haven't you? I have one coming up, you got any tips for me?

Thanks in advanced,

Michael (Fry) (aka Mike Zero)

LOL - not me brother. But definately suggest getting your ground game up with BJJ - got shown up bigtime when I started this after having a (limited) background in striking martial arts.

Get in the ring with those that do this, must be plenty of places in Chch? You will find you tire very quickly if you don't know how to grapple (my arms blew out real quick) and that your striking will become ineffective.

Strikeforce maybe?

The biggest tip I ever got from a wrestling trainer was to relax. Big difference training in the gym with weights and wrestling or boxing. We have a tendency to try and outmuscle everyone but you tire out real quick that way. Definitely do the basics, if you feel like you are a more natural striker at least do enough groundwork to get out of arms bars and chokes and that kind of thing.
