Specters 12 Week Powerlifiting Intro.

Specter

Recommended Posts

Starts Monday 01/03/10 6.00pm.

Looks like I will be broken down, beaten and reshaped and hopefully shown what I can be capable of lifting within the world of powerlifitng.

I know most of you guys at the House in Wellington will know my Trainer/Coach/Training Partner.

Will keep you updated.

the way I see it, you can either run from it, or learn from it.

If you take each challenge one step at a time, with faith in every footstep, your strength and understanding will increase.

Awesome move Specter, are you based at the House now, for some reason I thought you'd moved back to Hawkes Bay?

Look forward to seeing your progress.

Nah not the House but I wish it was....Thx bro, Im in hastings, live 7min walk down from Angels gym.

I know most of you guys at the House in Wellington will know my Trainer/Coach/Training Partner.

Will keep you updated.

And who would that be?

Willie P.

Face your deficiencies and acknowledge them; but do not let them master you. Let them teach you patience, sweetness, insight.

Mr Pakoti! Classic - he started training Big Sam before we poached him! You'll be into linear periodisation type workouts then Specter - lots of the basics will help with technical issues at your stage anyway.

I think all the local comps have been canned and shifted to PH this year, but no doubt Willie will know if any low key qualifier/novice type comps are on.

Good luck with it all - maybe your PLing (and more athletic stuff you've been up to lately) would make for a good Strongman competitor at the Hawkes Bay comp in April - the U105's are there for the taking!

Yup, I look foward to be smashed, broken down and made to look weak as f*ck.

But yeah I have been unhappy with my form and technique for a while now...and even plateaued on my shit lifting...took 8 weeks off and hit the gym again beginning of January and that has been a bloody mission itself.

Im looking foward to it, been studying up heaps and never knew how much is involved in powerlifting...admittedly i always had a curious/arrogant view of this...now I have nothing but respect for powerlifting. 8)

Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.

Novice comps in March, June and November/December this year at the House.

June comp has peeked my interest will see what happens.

Most of our obstacles would melt away if, instead of cowering before them, we should make up our minds to walk boldly through them.

thanks mate, yep BB background training...I think Im addicted to watching Strongman and Powerlifitng Vids on youtube..lol

nice one specter. i will watch with interest, another guy leaning toward the big3 and away from a b.p split!
Thanks bro..I will try my hardest to entertain you with my antics..lol :pfft:

Will keep you updated on my progress and thoughts/feelings etc...

Aside from the physical side of lifiting weights I have been studying into the mental side of lifting and applying to work myself past mental barriers that I know personally myself are key factors for me to work on. 8)

The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.

Fark..Im thinking of getting a second job just to pay for my food bill...especially if the GST goes up..

Thanks OB, as for Willie, Im not sure about the comeback, but Im humbled he has taken me under his wing.....

ummm..I hope he aint expecting me to headbutt the bar to fire myself up! :pfft:

Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm ... As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

How are you enjoying that Hammer Strength gear? I'm not much of a fan of machines but they're pretty good IMHO.

Also make use of that GHR hidden away down there - it'll do wonders for your squats/deads.

Got a few PLing training vids/dvds I'm trying to wrangle back off someone at the mo, when I get them I'll drop 'em off to Angels if you want to see them. Advanced Bench by Metal Militia is good if you're going to bench shirted at some point?
