Happeeee Birthdaaaay!!!! :grin:

And yes all food consumed on your birthday has zero calories.

I also believe that food consumed when you are sick has zero calories.

Haha I have been sick for two weeks!!!

Happy birthday mate :)

I hope drizzt doesn't find this disturbing ( :lol: ), but I'm now using the progress pics of you as my motivation! :oops:

Shucks, not at all. Flattering that anybody finds them motivating :oops: (appearance has softened a little since though :pfft:)

Much better thanks rimma!

One of my two PT sessions each week is spent solely on shoulder & neck exercises to help me keep my shoulders & head back so I'm putting less stress on the muscles! Feel pretty stupid with some of the exercises, but it's all for the better!

I haven't done much (read: nearly anything) in the way of weights/cardio this week - I've been sick AGAIN!!

Finally back to the gym!

Met my new PT on Monday night (got the session for free, which was nice) and did the standard weigh-in, fitness assessment, what goals are etc etc.

BF is at 25.8% - not half bad considering I've had over a month off the gym proper.

Got my next session tomorrow morning 06:00. Apparently going to be doing some boxing - yay! \:D/

Splurged on my last 'free' meal - just had Indian for dinner. Feel a bit bloated and yuck now :lol:

OK, I've been away from this site for bleedin' ages!!

I'm back at the gym and have been seeing a new PT (I seem to have amazing luck at PTs that run away) who has been awesome and I'm getting great results.

I'm finally starting to see some definition and noticing that I fit into clothes I haven't been able to for a long time (even stealing the boyfriends' clothes now :lol:).

Best of all; strength is improving - my deadlift is now at 90kg (and will be at 100 by the end of the month) and bench is slowly improving. Currently benching 50kg.

Also; deadlifts are awesome. I love them!

Not sure on the stats (they're with the PT) but I feel like in better condition!

I'll see if I can jump on the tanita scales tomorrow morning to see where stats are at :D

Just heard back from my PT:

body fat at 26/01/11 was 25.6. Kind of sucky that a YEAR ago, my bodyfat was at 26%... But there's been a big visible difference in fat/muscle, so not quite sure what to believe there!

Looks like I'll be dropping the use of a PT again; prices are increasing and I can't afford the extra! So when my 3 remaining sessions are gone I'll be going it solo for a while.

I've asked for support from my partners and they've agreed to help as much as they can - last time I tried to go it alone at the gym I failed miserably :(

This time, it'll be different! I *will* keep going and I *will* succeed and I *will* lose the body fat to bring me to at least under 20%!

Nice to see you back... good to hear the lifts are up, and the dimensions are down :clap:

Training without a PT's often inevitable, but when you look back across your own journal you'll find that you've already learned much of what you need to know.

The rest's in making a promise to yourself that you're worth the commitment. It may sound selfish, but nobody, not your partner, not your PT, but nobody, can make that promise but you.

Get the headspace right and the rest will follow, honest :nod:

Thanks teamfatboy!

I'm making a determined effort to get in there and just go. I asked my mate (who goes to the same gym) last night if he could be my workout buddy tomorrow - it's not so much that I need him for that as that I felt like I needed somebody depending on my being at the gym. That's what has motivated me to be up at 05:16 and writing on here! :lol:

So after convincing my mate to help me out with legs this morning, I think he was harder on me than my PT! No allowances for complaining or resting at all! =/

Ended up with 100kg (3x10) on the 45deg leg press

34kg(lb? not sure) kettlebell for squats (4x12)

Core;

* planks

* crunches

* wall/chinese squats => did not like these at all! Basically in a sitting position, back braced against the wall. Toes lifted off the ground & holding onto a sweat towel held by my mate so I didn't fall over :lol:

Food today:

* 07:30 - 2x trim lattés (it was a long breakfast, so shush!)

- cheese omelette

* 09:30 - 90g Muscle2Go protein bar

* 10:45 - 90g Muscle2Go protein bar

* 12:00 - banana & started a 600mL coke zero

Right; so the Personal trainer is now history and now it's all on me!

Tomorrow after work will be my first chest & arms day by myself in *ages*, so for some reason I'm a little nervous.

Is it best to drop my weights slightly (most especially for benchpress) 'cause I won't have a spotter to help out? I really don't want to drop the bar in my face :lol:

With the benchpress, I was considering replacing it with an incline pull-up that I was shown months ago by my PT. It's more or less like this video

; but in a rack so the bars don't wiggle around.

Would that be a good alternative to the standard benchpress?

It's just that I think I've read too many stories about people getting too cocky with what they can benchpress & end up dropping the bar into their face :doh:

Bench isn't my favourite exercise (that's deadlifts!) and I'm still using only baby weights for it, so I don't want to embarrass myself by getting stuck with only 50kg :lol:
