So it begins...My first round of gear has arrived. Adjustable rack, 1500lb bar, 230kg worth of weghts. On its way farmers handles that I got cheap as chips off get strength. SOUTHSIDE BARBELL IS UNDER WAY! Will be buying sumthing at least every month, and my birthday is coming up so if any of you niggas wana contribute to the cause please do :pfft:

Good first hit out in the new dungeon. Need to go buy some chalk asap as the condensation gets crazy. Hopefully will have some regular lifting partners now and we will be having at it. Also will be getting my 14yo bro into it too for rugby did some squats with the bar not too bad for a first go but lots to work on!

Cheers rach 8) My eventual plan is to have something like cbc set up these ways specially catered for 14-21yo development athletes, as well as a specialised pl set up (wether nzpf or nzpo :pfft:) long ways to go but its a start :)

As for the comp...I see my thread about wether Id be able to safely compete in it on ph got taken down. guess that means no :roll: Ive commited to lifting as I know that Ill be able to help out some of the newer guys that will be using it as an icebreaker. If I get in to strife for that well screw em :evil:

Ive got a 100kg of plates you can have for $2kg brah..2 x 50s :twisted:

any idea why? did you ask for a reason or get clarifacation at all?

Went to check for a reply and it had disappeared :-s

From what I gathered, yes there is sanctions against lifters who compete in comps with banned lifters. I have no idea of what the final lifters list is or if there will be any banned lifters competing but as far as Im considered its a gym lift and nothing else..only thing I have to say if theres any dispute...COME AT ME BRO :lol:

UoA powerlifting champs

squat 190 b+w all time PB!!

deadlift 190

total 500

placing 3rd overall in the mens raw.

Tweaked back on last squat, affected the rest of the lifts. Will let it rest up and hit training hard for classic/NIs. Will look to get bench up around 130 squat 200 dead 220 ish if I can control the back issue.

Huge lifts today

Richard 205/142.5/262.5 @92 kgs BELT ONLY!first overall

Sam Behazadi went 215/147.5/250 b+w second overall

Rod Newman 190kg bench @84kg!

Brian choi 200kg deadlift @ 63kg

Patrick 195kg squat @66kg

Jing seth 215 squat and 240 dead @ 92

The comp was FREE and I got a medal and 2lbs of whey for coming 3rd. Sam and Patrick got prizes both for coming top 2 in bench and overall. Awesome comp run pretty smooth considering no hydraulic rack and no computer for attempts and the quality of lifting plus the crowd was mint. Defo doing it again next year.

Yea I was pleasantly suprised to get 3rd overall..thought some of the smaller guys would of pulled it from me. Didnt realise there was raw and equipped. 3 guys lifted in equipment the rest raw. I was told 20+ but some didnt show.

Thanks to Rod for letting me have a lift, usually just the UoA guys can jump in. Got to meet some new guys plus catch up with some old faces. Also there to lend a tip or too as always.

Straight back into it. Back is feeling loads better today still a bit tender. Thinking its just a twinge. Back to squatting tommorow.

Ghetto benches (floor press from a dead start) mixed with bridge press(all reps with 3sec pause at bottom)

Got my farmers bars today bloody beautys will be getting a hammering in southside. Im sure the floor pressing and dips will help boost my bench too with increased overhead strength. Still trying to find the right way to set things up but its a work in progress.
