Anyone use isometric training?

Hello.

Long story short, a guy at work gave me this old book on Bruce Lee and his training methods. He used to do alot of isometric resistance training. His theory being that the muscle was being used and held in the point where it would build the most strength and size. I know alot of this stuff goes in and out of fashion but alot of what he says sounds good. I tried it the other day on biceps and triceps and felt more sore the following day than I have with my normal curls etc. Anybody out there reguarly using these techniques? Also what is the definition of a power rack? He refers to and used this alot.
