Protein

Protein powder at the very least 3 times a day.

Sauce over oats at brekkie.

Post workout shake.

Last meal of the day.

If you buy right a shake can work out cheaper than a chicken breast. But chicken is better for you.

For me its 2 scoops everytime. 48gms protein.

American scoops?

Some proteins aren't too bad pricewise. Shop online and you can get some pretty good deals. Most people here seem to like Eat Me but I prefer the taste of NutraWhey. Its up to you in the end. Neither comes with scoops so about 3 heaped tablespoons (or 30gms of powder) should do it.

I pretty much have the same serving times as greyghost (but half the serving size). Rest of protein comes from MEAT.

Sorry... disagree. Without knowing how much protein you should be consuming, how much of that should be from shakes, and how much from real food is a crap-shoot.

Sure, protein powder's expensive, but if you don't shop around, rump steak or chicken breast are over twenty bucks a kilo.

Have a read of some of the resources under that tab at the top of the page to work out roughly how much protein you should be getting... depending on how hard and often you train, that could be 2g net protein per kg of bodyweight - in your case 160g of net protein. Ideally, most of that should be whole foods, like chicken (80g cooked chook eq 30g protein), beef, tuna. Shakes are a convenient way of managing when you can't have real food, such as the immediate post-workout feed - but not the whole answer.

hey, is that eatme site safe in terms of emailing credit card details ... ? sorry just a little nervous to email over my credit card details to an email given on unsecured website.. cheers

You can deposit cash into their account (e.g through online banking) if you'd prefer that.

I actually wasn't aware they took credit cards :-s

cheers, i'm actually so astonished to see how cheap it is on their site compared to the shop i go to... when people say it is cheaper online, they weren't joking :)

this is true. when you buy expensive protein powders you're pretty much paying the extra cash for the packaging

Everyone seam to drink whey protein. How come you people arnt choosing other forms?

simple answer- it's cheaper. soy and egg white protein is equally as good as whey, if not better ( soy contains over twice the amount of glutamine per serve). however, whey is twice as concentrated as soy, so whey works out to be significantly cheaper
