chest strength training

EMC

Recommended Posts

this is my chest routine

flat bench 2 warm up sets 4 working sets

incline 4 working sets

dips 4 sets 10 reps/++failure

i wanted to see are these three exercises enough for chest? i use to do alot more for chest maybe 4 or 5 exercises but im pretty satisfied with these 3 exercises and just wanted to get some input.

for last few weeks ive started benching PL style. theres heaps of room for improvement but so far its going well. i wanted to ask how wide would you recommend a grip for a guy with long arms?

ive been told middle finger on the rings i went out today a finger outside the rings and it felt well. normally i would have been irritated becuase im 5'9 with a wingspan of 6'3 so to bench BB style kills me. not only is the extra arch benefiting me by reducing the distance i push but tucking and benching in instead of out doenst rotate my shoulders as much.

1)do tall lifters(typically with long arms) bench wide or close grip and to what degree?

2)racking off i feel like i have to press the weight up as im tucked in and all tight i know i need to remain this way and try not to press my shoulders out of position when racking out. im going to obviously lower the position of the racks by an inch now that im not lifting body builder style and im starting deeper into the bench. however is there any stratigey to stay tighter when racking out? - how much rom do i want in my elbows when i rack off in terms of elbow lockout.

any tips for a newbie? im reading up and watching as many vids as i can but any advice would be appreciated. soz for long post.
