what do big people eat pre workout

what do all you big guys eat pre workout? originally i would have a heartly full meal but i found it would kill me in the gym due to the digestion...so i switched to something simple like an apple and a shake and ive been able to lift pretty heavy without any interference in my workout...but lately ive just felt like ive started to crash and need more calories i dunno if its because im lifting heavier and i weigh alot more now...

i would appreciate if you all just let me know what you eat and how early prior to your workout.

Shake (100gms oats/45gms whey with water) and apple

interesting pete...i have the exact same thing...excluding the oats...i have about 1.5 cups of oats with 50 gram whey in morning for drink its a bit thick going down and not always so smoothly and quickly digested as id like...how is it for digestion pre workout and how long do you wait before workout?would you recommend me trying this?

who else here has oats pre workout?

I can scoff a good meal before training and tend to most every day eg 2 cups rice, veg, chook sort of thing about and hour before i walk in to the place. No probs...guessing the para-sympathetic nervous system will direct blood away from the digestive system so eating closer to training than that could cause issues for some.

eat some lollies during your workout if you're crashing or suss a meal before hand that you can handle.

About an hour before my workouts, I sack some rice (around a 250g bag of that microwave stuff these days) mixed with a can of tuna or chopchop - usually the smaller cans, but if I'm feeling peckish I'll go for a larger one :P Dunno if it's the "right" meal to eat before a workout, but I noticed since I started eating like this I've had a lot more energy for my workouts :nod:

And then 5-10mins before the workout I have a protein shake (30g WPI).

I have my pre-wrkout shake at 5.30pm and train at 7pm. I find i get some indigestion and heartache from the oats but have anti-acid tabs on hand. I'm talking raw oats in the blender (not cooked). I'd definetly recommend you try this pre-workout. My current diet has been set by a current IFBB pro who is also also a qualified nutritionalist (so cant complain with that)
