Power/bodybuilding

LOL Craig! Yes they're all strong & carry lots of muscle, but you missed one very obvious variable! I think Laver's squeaky clean so examples like Derek & Wayne Pomana (and probably a number of Chch PLers), Odd Haugen, the Gillinghams etc may have been more appropriate!

A natty might read the list and think "f*ck it, without 2 grams of test and a bucket of D's I'm fucked" Or maybe they wont notice the glaringly obvious!

That's true, but really you're comparing apples to apples, because how many of the pro bodybuilders that the same guys look up to are natty?

I still think that it is possible to be strong and carry lots of muscle. Look at guys like Coan, Efferding, Konstantanovs. And Coleman, Dennis James, Justin Rhys just to name a select few. All of these guys are incredibly strong and have incredicle muscularity.

How's training down your way? Got our first Atlas Stone in the water bath at the mo - can't wait, although it could be up to 165kg! :?

Good to have me old Mate Nate back into it! :)

Bro, you don't need to be juiced to the eye balls and have raisin nuts to train hard (with high and low reps) and eat properly. Or have I missed something? Pretty sure you will still make good gains and be strong and carry more muscle! Yes I did choose extreme examples.

Trainings going really well mate. Surrounding myself with young guys who are pushing me along. Good news about the stones. We have a yolk and conans wheel on the list for this year.

Have you been away with the whanau? Back into training?

Good post....

Very rare to see big, lean, strong and natural lifters!

looking back I'm so glad I've followed a strength path - not stuck on stage dancing around in a g-string.

Heh. This reminded me of something I read recently, written by a lovely, strong and muscled lady posting some big bench, squat and DL numbers:

"I decided I didn't really like the bodybuilding scene; full of vain assholes, jerks and know-it-alls plus I abhorr dieting"

As a side issue I have been learning Krav Maga last few months since my mate who is black belt in ninjitsu and Akido put me ointo it. Dam it is viscous but the best defense you could ever use. Have decided to take on fighting 1/2 the time now and do weights as well as fighting looking into MMA when I am ready :) should be fun.

Heh, I wanted to give that a go but the only KM school in NZ is in Auckland. Apparently the Todd Group do similar stuff at the School of Self Defense. But that's in Dunedin and I'm not there either  http://www.schoolofselfdefence.com/. Just call me wrong place wrong time girl  :pfft:
