Vees Ironing Vendetta

Are you doing a powerlifting meet soon or something? I don't get the sudden switch to new squat stance + benching w/ belt + sumo DLing if you aren't getting ready to start lifting in gear.

When I asked Vee last week, she said she isn't sure what she wants to do. Maybe it'll help Vee decide where she wants to take her lifting, if that's anywhere other than the gym. Regardless of what direction Vee takes, sometimes varying technique can help pinpoint weaknesses someone might not otherwise be aware of. You know, like mixing it up every 4-6 weeks to make sure you don't plateau.

Just be careful that varying technique doesn't take precedence over progression. Worrying about weak points in someone that doesn't have stable form or a solid base in the first place is putting the cart before the horse, IMO. Variety has to be second to consistency in novices.

I have found that perfecting correct technique to be incredibly helpful in upping the weights I lift.

I was stuck late last year and earlier this year for months on the same weights as soon as I adopted better technique my lifts instantly improved. Progression is very important to me and I try and lift more and more every week. This last week has been a big learning curve for me again and I know this will improve my lifts again.

I try to continuously learn more, get better at lifting and lift more.

Rose's help over the last few months has been extraordinary for me and I totally have faith in what she tells me. My lifts have doubled over the last 3 months I'm pretty happy with that!

I agree that varying technique shouldn't take precedence over progression I think they should go together, better technique helping you lift more weights.

The things Vee has been shown apply regardless of stance and are part of the stable form and solid base you speak of Pman.

Have you been showing me helpful correct things again Ma'm? Damn you trying to make me lift more!

:pfft:

To be honest I have been mindful re showing you stuff you might not need and confusing you. But it's highly unlikely I'll be back anytime soon so I made the call to do it. It's why I asked you about competing. You weren't sure, but if you do, you've got something in the grey matter for later should you need it. Regardless of what I showed you I tried to keep the theme consistent so that no matter what, the important bits stick. Some of the fluff might stick too, some might not. At least you have a frame of reference.

Thanks ma'm I appreciate all your help :salute: I will miss you very much

Sorry I interrupted. This is why I keep my thoughts to myself most of the time.

Don't be sorry it's good to question things.

I'm not feeling particularly wise this mornink.

I'm off to Dorkland for work for a couple of days, my taxi arrives at 5:10am which I am normally in Le gym at that point so LOGICALLY I got up at 3:00am to go to the gym this mornink.

3:15am QUEUE for squat rack

I actually didn't mind this mornink though there was a guy actually doing proper squats in it I nearly clapped.

It was the first time I have seen somebody doing squats in the rack.

Well, would you look at that - some trainering going on  JK JK JK, please don't hurt me

I'd blame Dorkland for being tired... I know my day-trip up there seemed to last a long time...

BTW, a PB on medium day? Those are good rows - well done! -

Kinda makes me wonder what you've got in store for Heavy Day Saturday :phear:

I have found le reason for tiredness this week, I have an infection in le foot from le new doc martens.

Here's me toughing it out breaking them in and oh they broke me grrrrrrr.

Heavy day is scheduled for Sundee this week, I will recalibrate the plan next week to get back into Saturday heavy days. wewt!
