New Journaltastic! It's Le New Year and all that and my old diary was getting dog-eared and well, old.

I have flicked through the pages of last years diary and was pleasantly suprised my strength is up 100% + on EVERYTHING, bench is 250%

This last year has been a MASSIVE learning curve iron and diet wise. I hired a PT earlier in the year and worked with her for 7 months which has been great, I picked up things I would never have done. I ditched 15 years of vegetarianism to become and full blown steak for breakfast carnivore. This has definitely effected my training in a positive way and eating is FAR more interesting and fun!

In the last part of the year I have ditched my crazy running routines and been concentrating on lifting which has in turn given me more strength.

I have moved cities and jobs and are currently finding my way around a new gym.

I endeavor to continue lifting through this next year and get me some more muscle!

I have myself a new programme which has a bit more volume than this last one so we'll see how it goes!

Just out of interest I entered my food intake for today into a food calculator and got this:

Cals 2,262

Fat (g) 90.9

Carbs (g) 72.2

Prot (g) 285.7

I've never looked at this before so I have no idea what this means, I will investigate some more!

My Palm looks like it's going to cark it after a week of being in the outdoors  I don't think nailing that one down will help! It would work on the Cacti though they are just getting blown about I will try putting rocks in their pots.

I am very happy with my rowing! Thanks!

My 2c worth, fat content depends on the type of cut of beef - and where the food calculator comes from. American beef, being grain-fed, is much more marbled than NZ grass-fed beef, and so would have a higher fat content. The NZ Crop and Food Research tool lets you pick what cut you're using.

Can you choose the cut in the calculator Vee? If not, and if it's lean beef fillet, 4-6g of total fat per 100g is a good guesstimate.

Yep I did it on fitday which is American, I can change the nutritional amounts, I set my protein powder up on it and I will go through and do the same with the steak too, thanks guys!

That link from TFB puts it at 7-8g.

Hmmm I will do some more research on this, my in-house butcher re-butchers the stuff for me too so it's REALLY lean! It will be a guess though as every piece is different huh? But maybe somewhere in the middle of 4-8g on average.

It will effect my cals for the day too all this!

Leg Extension: 30kg x8 40kg x8, 45kg x8

Leg Curl: 55kg x8, 70kg x8, 70kg x4, 55kg x4

Lunges: 20kg x8 x2

Foodsicles:

M1: protein shake, 1/2 C oats, banana, blueberries

M2: protein shake, banana

I'm slowly getting used to the new gym although still getting lost the weights are grouped on floors and don't make sense to me. I found more calf machinery today and stuff that looked like leg curl machines but with no plates or anywhere for weights to sit, I will have to do research on this!
