VP

Keep us informed on how the Phosphagen goes, been a while since any of us have used it.

Yeah Mate,

No worries, do you use anything at present? I just got this in the shopping from the supermarket with my protein powder

Usually load up about 8-9 weeks out from a comp, Recovery, Beta Alanine, Superpump 250/Creatine Mono, ZMA, Tribulus. But I have a tub of Phosphagen that has not sold so might use that instead of the Creatine.

Hey OB

  thats alot off stuff dude I thought protein powder and Phosphagen was a good amount :)

May be I will have to do some resreach into his side of training cheers

Its not that much The Recovery (Balance Ultimate Recovery Stack) is taken straight after training a tub last till a comp more than likely use this to the Nationals. Beta Alanine will be this cycle and see how it goes against my prevoius but the training is Shieko so it will be interesting. ZMAs probably the last 6 weeks and Tribulus well us old fellas need to kick start everything that we have lost over time. :pfft:

Yeah thats good advice about the fish oils. But give the flaxseed a miss mate as not everyone has the enzyme (delta-6 desaturase) that is able to extract the fats from the flaxseed. So for alot of people its just a waste of money.

Hey HP

Sweet mate, I will have a read up on them both, how do you find out whether or not you have that enzyme (delta-6 desaturase) ?

cheers brother

I never knew that...Thanks HP. LSA oil or mix would be a good option too wouldn't it?

I'd ditch flax seed oil because of it's possible estrogenic effects. Many medical professionals suggest pregnant women avoid it for this very reason. Whereas fish oil is encouraged. They're not allowed to lie about things that might affect unborn babies :pfft: The rest of us are expendable!

Flax seeds (in LSA, whole or ground) are considered more likely to exert an estrogenic effect. Oil is argued less so, but still possible.

Yes phytoestrogens are said to bind to "bad" estrogen thereby inactivating it, but they can also have the opposite effect.

Fish oil does have other benefits though, such as lowering homocysteine levels, which can become elevated on a high protein diet combined with insufficient levels of B6, B12, folic acid.

Awesome!   I have been watching your journal with interest as Sheiko is on my list. That has been a great 8 weeks of training and you have stuck to it really well and obviously added some bodyweight too

Anything you can add eg Is this the first shieko youve done, howd you handle the volume, anything else?

It was 29 too wasn't it?

Hey Mate,

Thanks, sheiko 37 I believe Tonka gave me the program, I just follow it back to back, yeah second time round not bad, the first 1 - 4 weeks are hard but after that I use the rest of the program for explosive power, your journal is pretty sharp itself mate keep going hard mate

Yeah and its good bodyweight to. I saw him in the gym today and hadnt seen him in a few weeks, and he looked alot thicker through the chest and delts. He has definately put on muscle as opposed to fat.

You should give shieko a go steak. Everyone I know who has tried has had really good results with it, even lifters who used to swear by westside lifting protocols. The more I see it in practice the more I am impressed by it.

From looking at your journal steak you definately have the mental fortitide and dedication to see the cycle through.

Good lifting today VP. I thought you were going to get that 250 as the pull on the 240 was moving so quickly. Definately 245 would have been in the bag.

Hey Bro,

Good day at the office today you reached all the programmed lifts, it is good when the training come together on the day.

Well done now the cycle to the comp, turn the heat up shorten the rests get the conditioning right up there you know this works so just perfect everything. Treat every lift like a competition lift, minimize the steps out in the Squat 2-3, Pause first reps in all Bench sets, hold lockout before racking, Deads get the setup right for first rep and big intensity hold last rep for a couple of seconds.

Well Done
