I wondered who would be the first on here to bring that up

I think I must have been captured by the Easter Bunny's evil twin, the Potato Chip Fairy

but look, there WAS some training done today. OK, it was only cardio, but... I gotta save my strength for the weekend.

30 min elliptical, followed by 15m treadmill, mostly shuffling along at geezer speeds, but once the legs recovered from the shock of having to DO something, there were little intervals at up to 14 kph. The acid test will be how they feel tomorrow.

OMG, I've turned into a gym tramp

No, it's just that I've felt the urge to really up the ante on cardio, and since Bodyworks doesn't do a meaningful combat class, the last couple of weeks I've schlepped over to Exodus for their Fight-Do class.

Free parking, ritzy facilities and (for a couple of weeks at least) a day pass is affordable.

Tomorrow, however, treadmill time at lunchtime at Bodyworks, and then PT is threatening to turn my abs inside out with a punishing new routine

Hey TFB what model is your Polar HRM? I see CityFitness are selling the F11 model online for $245, apparently reduced from $300 and I was wondering about it. It does calories and has an anti-interference mode for other HRMs and seems to be reasonably priced - are you familiar with this one?

Hi CC, I'll go websurfing later and let you know - mine's a different model but I''ve had a couple...

Thursday 27th May again

Abs with PT..oh the pain, the pain!

Prone holds, tri-set with SB crunches, tri-set with SB holds, three lots.

Then oblique holds, three lots, but could only manage 30s/ side... had been neglecting obliques 'cos I didn't want to torque my back, but sadly PT found a way around that excuse... [TFB tears ANOTHER page out of his Big Book Of Excuses :madman:  ]

Heya CC, I had a look on Polar's website and the F11 looks like quite a good buy.

They're on Trademe at $285, so it's a good price.

I compared it with my current one, and it actually does pretty much everything I could think of. It has a backlight, which my old S120 doesn't have - makes for easier reading.

It is a (recently) superseded model - but compared to something like the current FT4, you're getting the ability to store data from each workout separately, as opposed to simply accumulating the data on top of itself.

Bottom line: if the F11 is new-in-box, not used, for $245 it'd be quite a good buy. My 2c worth :)

Thanks TFB. I presume they are brand new - it's from the CF website so I'd have thought they'd say if they were used. Only thing I can't seem to find out is whether it comes with the chest strap or if you have to buy it separately. I would think it would come complete, but when I was googling this model a couple of places selling them said you had to purchase that bit separately. I've tried emailing CF for info, but they don't seem to respond to emails, and the phone number on their site doesn't work. Stupid me forgot to ask for a phone number for their sales when I was there today  Will do some more investigating tomorrow!

They "should" come with the chest-strap included - otherwise they're just a watch, what's more a watch with some functions that don't work!

Over the years I've had a Polar bike computer and three HRMs and they've always had the strap supplied.

You can buy spare transponders/straps OR just the extra cloth straps, which comes in handy if you're using it every day.

If not [TFB reaches for "The Big Boy's Book of Excuses"]

A. It's creatine bloat

B. I'm on a bulk

C. It's winter condition (just don't ask which winter )
