I guess if I was a rail fan and wanted to work on the railways, and found out they had the policy of not hiring rail fans. I would become a closet rail fan at least until I had scored a job.

I've been told a few KiwiRail branches enjoy taking railfans for the following branches who are railfans-Shunters,LE (Diesel section/Electric section) anyone willing to drive 7X DX's + 45 coal wagons into Otira Tunnel,Ontrack Signalbox Operator,Diesel Loco Fuel Operator
