It's not faggy, and you'll never get any replies if you frighten people off in the first sentence! :pfft:

But yeah, I'm with you on the shaving legs thing. My first and last attempt at shaving legs gave me a bumpy, angry, pus-filled rash of ingrowns. My hair is (well, was) just too thick and curly to shave.

Waxing is better, but even that gave me some nasty ingrowns. I wouldn't try and do it yourself. That just gets messy. Have it done professionally, or get your girlfriend to do it.

If you can afford it, I recommend laser. It's not cheap, and it takes a good few sessions, but the hairs just fall out gently and never grow back. Apart from an occasional tidy-up it's largely maintenance-free.

Found waxing to be surprisingly not as painful as expected. But the regrowth started just as quickly as shaving. And there was still the rash of red spots as the regrowth started. Also, you have to wait about 6 weeks to be able to do it again.

And definitely not keen on the creams. They smell bad, they take forever to do, and they're not that effective.

Overall, would probably go with shaving, it's quick, easy, and you can maintain it regularly.

I've waxed a few times  Generally for beach purposes to tidy up the look a bit

I got quite a bit of rashy skin/pimply spots after the first few times, so the Mrs kind of tut-tutted me and taught me the art of exfoliating (christ, I'm sounding less and less heterosexual by the sentence :pfft:). So after that wonderful lesson, rashes/pimply spots aren't as abundant as they once were.

The girlfriend usually has the incredible pleasure of waxing me - some spots are tough to do by yourself - but I usually just do chest, stomach and I get a light spattering on the back after a while. Haven't done legs for ages because they take a feck load of time and patience, and they start hurting when you start hitting groin area (no, not THAT part of the groin ) so I usually leave them to grow.

And yep, the Mrs loves doing it, as she can take her daily frustrations out on causing me pain :pfft: In all honesty though, only the coarse/thick hairs hurt, the rest of them are fairly easy to deal with. If you're brave I'd get it done professionally as they know their stuff and can advise you on how to take care of it etc - I'm just more comfortable with my Mrs touching me rather than a random :P

Tried shaving ages ago, hair just grew back thicker and quicker so I never did it again.

Oh and Nads for Men FTW, or just normal Nads if you can't find the for men version (don't know if there is a huge difference, but it sounds slightly less gay )

Key to avoiding shaving rash & ingrowns is to use disposal razors with only a couple of blades to avoid them blocking up. Always use new razors each time. After a few goes say weekly, your skin gets used to the close shave & settles down. If you are a bit "out there" you can tidy up arms & legs real quick between shaving sessions with a Philishave or similar.

Used to shave but the regrowth was the most painful thing i've ever experienced and would catch on my jeans and sting like hell so now i just use one of those body hair trimmers on the lowest setting or even with the guide taken off, it shaves so close that you cant see any hair and no painful regrowth however you don't get the smoothness that you get with shaving.

Is that the epilator machine that drags each hair out by the root?

is that one of these?

most painful thing ive ever used. its like having each hair individually done by tweezers, at least waxings fast.

love this guys style.... :-s

Epilator - Disgustingly painful (for a guy). Waxing is a fucken breeze in comparison.

Ill tell you what not to use and thats veet hair removal cream if you plan on putting it anywhere near your nutsack. I applied a generous amount and left it on for 5 minutes then started to get a stinging sensation  so washed it off immediately but it was to late . My scrotum was bright red and felt like i had dipped it in boiling water . It looked like i had a tomato hanging under my ding dong.

My man went for a wax once, never went back, said it was extremely painful, I would agree with that. Seems the secret for him is good quality shaving cream and an equally good razor and yes, don't let the blades get blunt. The best bit is, it saves me money buying new blades, he thinks that his need changing more because its the man hair doing it, lol. :pfft:
