I had another hard week in the truck and could only find time for bodyweight exercises while out on the road. Next week I am hoping the kettlebells I ordered will arrive so I can stash a 53lb one in the sleeper. Normally time allowing between loads and waiting to be loaded if there is a YMCA that I can get the tractor unit into nearby I will sneak in for a full-body weight workout.

I am 44, 172cm, 89kg, BF% 20. I started workingout 5 months ago. I eat every 3 hours(awake) and carb cycle.

Today's workout at local Golds Gym.

Yes I know it might seem a little excessive, but with nature of my job I have to do what I can when I can. Most weeks I leave out on Sunday lunchtime and drive a 500 mile radius around Atlanta until I get home again Friday night or Saturday morning. On my weekend gym sessions when at home I have to assume the next will be the following weekend, with any opportunities to sneak into a gym during the week being a bonus.

I also enjoy challenging myself, I only have slight tenderness in my biceps this morning. I am maintaining bodyweight while my bodyfat percentage is dropping.

Now that's funny. I'm originally from Birmingham. And now here's a Kiwi up in my old stomping grounds.

How's Dixie treating you?

On the whole pretty good. I pass through Birmingham alot, mostly on my way to Memphis. Adamsville and I have a little bit of a patchy history though. May this year a 4-wheeler thought driving 92 mph on US78 in rain was the thing to do, he hydroplaned crossed the median and took my trailer wheels with him.

78 has changed alot over the last 4 years I have been driving on it. It now runs along the new I22 from Graysville all the way to the Mississippi line. The sooner we don't have to use the section of 78 past the Pilot truckstop the better!

Hi :) Did your kettlebells arrive? Must be tricky fitting in training if you're on the road a lot.

Hi yes my new toys arrived :0) Yeah it is a little tricky so I have to be inventive with fittings on the truck and the truck's chassis to aid in bodyweight workouts, and take opportunities as they present themselves. Eating properly was the biggest challenge to start with, most truckers here live on truckstop food, fast food and soft drinks.

Yeah I bet! Cool that you've found options to work around the lard gathering. I wanted to be a truck driver when I was little, mainly for the air horns I think and cos I got to sit on someones knee and steer one. Or it mighta been cos you got to talk in code on a radio. But I still love the ERF's growly engine braking :shifty: Would like to race one, that'd be funny as. What do you reckon a track rig would handle like? Everyone says like shit, but I'm not convinced, supercharged engine and no trailer, those things'd move and slide! But yeah I guess handling might be a pig though aye?

A good friend of mine still based in B'ham used to be a long-haul trucker, and I think he still makes runs as far as New Orleans. Don't think he goes much further than that like he used to.

Once upon a time he was trying to talk me into doing the job, but not being able to lift consistently was one big drawback I couldn't get over. Good on ya for keeping up with it.

A track rig should handle pretty good because they can alter the suspension and brake balance to suit. The one I drive doesn't feel too nice running bobtail especially in the rain, mine is setup so the brakes work best when towing a trailer with a good size load.

But I still love the ERF's growly engine braking :shifty:

Yeah engine brakes can sound good. I love the sound of a cummins engine. The Internationals I have driven with this company have had them. They are particularly good for letting the 4 wheelers know you are there, most 4 wheelers don't seem to look when they are coming down an on ramp. Some pics from May

Wow  What was it like driving with your trainer having a spaz at the back? Was it like in the movies? 4 wheeler front end looks pretty messy! Man that's a long trailer on your rig. Or is it just perspective playing with it?

True re track rig handling, they'd be set up for the track hey. It'd be like the difference between riding a stock sports bike on the track vs a track bike. Waaaaay different :pfft:

It was an unreal feeling, I had a heavy load in the trailer which took some stopping. I had to keep the power on until the trailer stopped me moving. The trailer is 53ft long, the perspective and the doors being twisted around probably helps make the trailer look a bit longer too. In the 1st pic just to the right of the cop car are the trailers wheels laying in the grass.

Yeah I could see it lose control and lost sight of it as it hit the grass. I felt it hit the trailer then heard scraping I glanced in the mirror expecting to see the 4 wheeler being dragged instead I could see the wheels in the middle. The main thing is that the 3 people it that 4 wheeler all survived.

Hurt myself after slipping on ice this morning. Landed on my right elbow, elbow is very swollen, fingers still move ok and can still pick up 24kg kettlebell with sore arm. Taking a day off, planning to try swinging the kettlebell around and tricep dips tomorrow to check arm out.
