Hello - my name is Andrew Cominos. I am President of the World Drug-Free Powerlifting Federation.

The WDFPF is making contacts in countries where we are as yet unrepresented - to found out whether natural bodybuilding federations in certain countries would be interested in offering drug-free bench press and powerlifting competitions to their members.

The WDFPF offers international competition in POWERLIFTING and SINGLE EVENTS -

EQUIPPED & UNEQUIPPED CATEGORIES -

WORLD & REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS (incl. Australasia)

Forthcoming competitions in the WDFPF are as follows:

European Single Event Championships

Pompeii (Naples) Italy - 28/29 May 2005

Organised by WDFPF Italia

European Powerlifting Championships - 18/19 June 2005

Grangemouth, Scotland - organiser Hamish Davidson

World Single Event Championships - Fri 14th - Sun 16th October 2005

Umag, Croatia

World Powerlifting Championships & Congress - 18/19/20 November 2005 Turin, Italy

Organised by WDFPF Italia

European Single Event Championships 2006

Varese, Italy - 26/27/28 May

Organised by WDFPF Italia

World Single Event Championships 2006

October - Bendigo, Australia

Organised by John Clow

World Powerlifting Championships & Congress 2006

November 10/11/12 - Cork, Ireland

Organised by Barry Crowley & IDFPA

Tentative bid for the 2007 European Powerlifting Championships:

Zurich, Switzerland - May/June 2007

As yet we have no representation in New Zealand, and we would be very keen to enter discussions with interested parties, with a view to inviting NZ competitors to some of our international events.

The WDFPF internet website is being updated. In the meantime updated information can be accessed on the website of the Irish Drug-Free Powerlifting Association (IDFPA), which can be located at http://www.idfpa.plus.com/

Some other WDFPF information can be found on our earlier website at http://www.geocities.com/wdfpf/wdfpf.htm including 'frequently asked questions'.

Information about the qualifying standards for WDFPF competition (powerlifting totals) can be found at

http://www.bdfpa.co.uk/qualifying/worlds.pdf

I look forward to hearing from interested parties with any questions you may have.
