Crossfit Challenge

Weds afternoon @ 4pm bring her in she's more than welcome to have a go and see if she likes it, my daughters 12 and doing the high school classes but she does the kids one too.

Her and her brothers competed (fun) today at the games and did really well. Everyone was amazed at the 2 older kids kipping pullups ...proud mum

Hubby (crossfitting for 4 mths) won the mens intermediate division (workout 2 he smashed out a 110kg clean and jerk to be last man standing!!!!!) and I got 5th in womens intermediate, 3rd place on points but 3 girls were 2nd equal so all in all a good day for the family :grin:

Tues (horrible wod this one)

5 handstand pressups

10 single leg squats (on a box)

15 pullups

20 min AMRAP

8 rounds + 1 squat

Weds

Strength: Clean 3x3 50kgs

WOD

Power Clean

front squat

pressups

10reps to 1 rep for time

took me 11:00

gassed :o

Trained last night..strength deadlifts 4x5 I got to 95kg x 5. I am currently 2nd on the board for 117.5 1 RM (1st place 150kg to a chick who plays League for NZ) ANother lady came back from an injury layback and decided she wanted her place lack on the table and pulled 120kg, so of course I had to match...it wasn't pretty but it was 2.222x bw so I took it :oops: :shifty: Anyway she pulled 122.5 straight after...wasn't going to risk my back again so I let her have it.

Had to miss this morning due to a musical interlude....had to watch 3 kids play in their end of term music concert

Awesome :pfft: proud Mum 8) and after nearly 5 years of concerts have got sneaking out straight after they play down to a fine art :nod:

Trained with our coach instead this afternoon...whole fambily

Strength Cleans 3x 3reps 35kg, 45kg, 50 kg (elbows sore)

WOD

push press (25kg)

box jumps

Pull Ups

10 to 1 reps

2 of the kids did it with us, our 12 yr old daughter (who deadlifted 40kg last night with awesome form) and 11 yr old son. She used 7.5kg for push press but did same size box and kipping pullups just like me and son did 5kg and same box and kipping pullups like dad 8)

I finished in 7.21, hubby in 7:24, daughter in 7:40 and son in 8:01

wicked, both kids were up with us until about the round of 4's, both mum and dad were freaking out and having to work extra hard to beat them :oops: :pfft:

and pulled 120kg, so of course I had to match...it wasn't pretty but it was 2.222x bw so I took it :oops: :shifty:

still training but still struggling with elbow, forearm

Took on the role of caoch at our crossfit last week and loved it!!!

Last night experienced the joy of wall climbs for the first time...ouchy

check it out :shock:

:shock: Wholey! Another thing for me to try :D looks awesome. Hope your elbow gets better soon. God damn injuries! :x

1 min situps

2 mins push press (25kg)

1 min rest

2 rounds (accumulated reps for score)

177 reps

I am so excited... the world crossfit games start tommorrow in LA. 2 athletes representing from NZ - Ruth from Invercargill and Pat CFNZ (adopted kiwi)

1st event =

210m ocean swim

run 1.6 km on soft sand

50 chest to bar pullups

100 hand release pressups

200 air squats

run 1.6 km on soft sand

Tonight

Bulgarian squats 4x3 reps 15kg for me (pretty sad)

WOD

overhead squats (rx=25kg I did 15kg to save the wrist/elbow/knee/...)

kettlebell swings (16kg)

30 reps, 20 reps, 10 reps

6:32 really good depth on the squat, gonna feel it tommorrow

lucky my weekend will be infront of the computer watching the athletes do the hard yards

Games WOD 2 (3 skill tester)

max L sit for time (on paralettes)

max softball throw for distance

max handstand walk (with 1 mulligan if you don't make 5 yards first attempt)

how diverse a range of activities is that...crossift I love it !!!!

I'm aiming for masters (45-49yr) in 3 years time...knowing my luck they woulda dropped the age to 40yrs by then hahaha

and by then crossfit will have grown so much the standard of competitiors will be beyond me I guess. It's only been going 5 years and is now in the realm of semi professional with Reebok on board...won't be long til it becomes too big for us mere mortals :pfft:
