Hey man, With the workouts, you can vary them over time.

For me, most weeks ill do my standard heavy weights with a max of 8 reps per set. Basically if i can get 8 on that set and it wasnt very hard then ill up the weight on the next set hoping to get 6.

Occasionally i do a :

High rep lower weight week, where ill go for 12-15 reps at about 80% weight, any lower than this and i wont feel anything.

Or: Low rep high weight (hard enough that i can just manage 4-6 reps) then for the 3rd set ill just go for max weight 1-2 times.

You probably wont need to do this one yet, but when i occasionally get stuck at a weight.

On a normal week, ill do the first 2 sets then on the 3rd set, ill go to failure, then lower the weight and go till failure again, over and over till i can barely lift the bar / some tiny weight. This last set you want to go as fast as you can between changing weights.

Doing all this im getting a new PB in about 1/5 of all exercises every week.

Just posting so my journal doesnt get deleted or whatever.

Nothing much to report...workouts are going well (Orly I tried the technique of multiple failures)

but diet is not.

Still not gaining any weight, altho my body looks very lean and I would guess I have a very low bf%.

In short, I look as though I'm cutting even tho I'm trying and failing to bulk...

There is only one thing to do; EAT MORE.

Big news everyone! :P

I finally pulled finger and finished modifying my squat rack yesterday. the beast is done...just needs a few licks of paint (he said jokingly as if he'd ever get round to doing it)

Pics are to follow, very shit quality and a very crowded garage.

And also massive quads, buns of steel etc to follow. In my dreams at least :D

2x4's: Free, just off the woodpile

Bolts: $20 (Cheapskate so cut them by hand from threaded rod)

Nuts/washers: $15 (bro works at hardware store)

Pull up bar: Free, also off the woodpile

So total cost was $35 plus labour. if anyones interested. and poor.

I'd kill for a squat rack at home!

She would, too. Don't tell her where you live.

Not only did you tell Rose where to find this squat rack, you post photos of it too!

I suggest keeping a steak on hand to distract her with. Then you might survive.

Nice rack, though, dude. (Never thought I'd say that to a guy!)

Lmao nice! I obviously didn't think this one through...

Don't hurt me Rose...just take the rack and leave me in one piece

pretty good kiwi ingenuity (think that's the right word?) there.

Yup thats the word. I think there's a saying "necessity breeds invention" or soemthing? And obviously it was necessary for me to squat.

Seems to be working too, I have DOMS in my butt cheeks this morning

P.S. You play drums too? Are you hot? Single? I'll help you get buns of steel!

Crooked? RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!

oh you were kidding? that was a close one my friend...

And yes my garage could use a clean-out...iAnd that is with my bench and weights removed so there was more room to photograph :D

Sorry to disappoint on all three accounts; I play guitar (thats my bro's kit), I'm definitely not hot (5'10 and 65 kg do the math!) and I have a girlfriend.

...Other than that we are perfect for each other!

lets make babies.

my weights are going up, which is nice.

Pretty pathetic figures but as long as they keep climbing I'm happy.

Pull-ups: 2x6

Chin ups: 2x6

Deadlift: 10x50/ 8x75/ 6x80/ 5x85

Bent over rows: 10x30/ 8x47/ 6x52/ 6x57

Dumbell row: 3x10 @ 8.5kg

Curls: 5x30 then stopped due to return of shitty wrist pain :(

Bodyweight still 66kg (Probly more like 64 cos scales are inaccurate)
