I looked at myself in the mirror and realised I'm way too small. Might say goodbye to the abs for awhile.

I'm a bit late here, but I think you should post some photos and let us be the judge. Start one of those "Guess my BF% - should I bulk or cut?" topics.

Was wondering where you'd got to? Meh keep plugging away dude, the numbers will come up if you're consistent yup yup, ha not that I can talk I've been stuck on the same bench number for months

Cheers Jess, your bench is pretty impressive though haha. I'm actually happy enough with strength increases, more worried about size as you will see in these pictures

Thanks for the replies everyone, sounds like lean bulk it is.

My goal will be 1kg per month which will take me to 82/83kg by the end of the year.

Weighed myself today and mysteriously dropped from 73kg to 70kg almost overnight so thats pretty worrying

I have been very busy and will be for the next 12 weeks. So eating hard and training hard might take a back seat.

First training in several days today, got a hair up my ass and decided to do a mini test days. 5 hours of fruit picking beforehand not the best prep but no excuses

Anyway stoked to nail 85kg on bench, and sure 90kg will be there within a couple of months. 100kg by the end of the year??

Bench:

30kg x 5

50kg x 5

60kg x 3

70kg x 2

75kg x 1

82.5kg x 1 PB

85kg x 1 PB

87.5kg x 0 fucked up

Squat:

50kg x 5

70kg x 3

90kg x 2

105kg x 1

115kg x 1 PB

120kg x 0 lol

Deadlift:

50kg x 5

70kg x 5

100kg x 3

110kg x 2

120kg x 1

140kg x 1

155kg x 0

Deadlift was pretty poo haha but squats felt good and bench felt really good.

Good stuff there, gotta be motivating  Relative to BW you're definitely passed me now

Thanks man. Relative strength isn't much consolation when you bench less than 100 though  :pfft:

Started a new assistance template for 531. Light weights and some new exercises which is cool.

Deadlifts today...kind of suck lately. I'm trying to work on form and make some improvements. Would be keen for 2.5 times BW by the end of the year.

Deadlift

50kg x 5

70kg x 5

90kg x 5

105kg x 5

120kg x 8 PB

Front squat: Very light to start, trying to get some good wrist flexibility and nail form.

50kg x 7

45kg x 7

40kg x 7

35kg x 7

Pull-ups: Will add small weights (1-1.5kg)every week.

training looking good.

do u ever video tape your exercises to check form etc?

Cheers bro, as it happens I videod some lifts for the first time the other week. Form was bad and I was able to identify what was going wrong without posting up on here. Maintaining that lower back arch across all three lifts is what I'm aiming for now.

Todays training was alright, eats were terrible. Just got back from a long function where I got to have a chat with the PM... not name-dropping or anything 8)

So didn't eat much, busy fulfilling journalistic duties mostly. :naughty:

Bench

30kg x 10

50kg x 3

At this point my mate mentioned "1.5 BW chin from a dead hang is a pretty good goal apparently."

So of course I had to try haha.

+10kg x 2

+20kg x 2

+30kg x 2

+36.5kg x 1 (BWx 1.5)

Pretty fun though doing chins for 1RM's may not be very productive

Procrastinating major assignments and feeling a bit gloomy with the shite weather so went down to the gym for a while.

Instead of using the time productively, did something I've never really done before.... arms day!!1!!11

DB Curls, Cable curls, skullcrushers and a bit of ab work at the end.

All light and pumpy- just a bit of good fun and got the endorphins flowing again :pfft:

Nice PB

I'm going to give the seated variation a go next week!

Thanks man. I'm curious, what are the advantage of doing it seated vs standing? Let me know how you get on.

These people who take photos, then hide them away in their journals!

You should have posted them as a new topic in the Photo forum, Rimma. Then lots more people (eg, me!) would have seen them, and you could have been in for Photo of the Month.

Anyway, you're looking good. Lean bulk sounds like a good plan - but you decided that nearly a month ago now anyway! :P

Yup nice work on your PB dude  I don't know what the advantages are of seated vs standing, I just know that seated are harder! Well for me anyway :D

I prefer seated cos I feel more stable and I am so much stronger in this position. I guess because I don't have to use any stabilizers when doing seated press. I do standing every now and sometimes do push press also but with the heavier weights I just feel better doing seated.
