Any update on the Comp 2010 dates yet?
It shouldn't be too far away, Evie. Our President had his return from overseas delayed by more than 2 weeks (he returned yesterday), so our meeting to confirm the 2010 calendar has been put back from Nov 22 to one of the final two weekends prior to Xmas (Dec 12/13 or Dec 19/20).

NABBA Calendar on line

http://www.nabba.co.nz

Cheers

Maeve

NABBA Wellington

Someone please tell me I missed something?!!!

Has NABBA NZ aligned with NABBA UK & Australia etc??? The Worlds & Universe details are the same on each Calanders?

Anyone?!

Nothing is confirmed at this stage. We are talking to Graeme Lancefield at NABBA/WFF Headquarters in Australia to get clarification of this. As far as we know this is not a done deal although we would be happy to see this happen. If this re-alignment can be achieved it will pave the way for proper access to NABBA's International Competitions directly from the NZ body. Will come back with any developments as they become available.

If this does happen that would be fantastic for all competitors. However, those within Nabba NZ HQ won't be letting go of the reigns anytime soon - one would think.

This came as a pleasant surprise to see the calendar. Hopefully Nabba can pull it off and convince Graeme Lancefield to look forward for the benefit of New Zealand competitors. It would be fantastic for the top Nabba competitors even though the competition is really tough in Nabba UK. Exciting news.

Good luck in negotiations

Graeme has always looked forward for the NZ competitors and he and other Australian promoters have always welcomed Kiwis with open arms. Those that have held some great competitors back - are right here in NZ. The unfortunate part of it all is they still don't give a crap! If they did - they would of sorted all this sorry mess out ages ago. There are only a handful of genuine promoters that have worked hard and promoted the sport here in NZ - Terry Hill being one of them. At no point has he ever had an agenda - the same cannot be said of a few others!

I totally agree am I have been the main stirrer since 2006 to get us back to Nabba UK.Was alone for awhile but many people want this badly and are prepared to spend lots of money to go through Australia. Graeme has emailed me with every bit of information about his contests. Graeme has a problem with the Nabba leaders and has said he will not work with them. Hopefully common sense will prevail and things will go where they have to.

It will be amazing and not before time after much lobbying and will hopefully bring back a lot of top competitors who haven't competed this year.

I am always talking with Terry Hills and he is very energetic and wants only the best for the competitors. There are 2 Nabba reps who want the same, Maeve and Neville who just want the best for the competitors

This International thing has been a thorn in the side of Nabba for at least 2 years now and there are quite a few people keeping an eye on these developments

Yes Ann you are correct. I speak on behalf of a group of dedicated & passionate BBers & Competitors in NZ who are working with Graeme Lancefield to bring about the long overdue merger of the two bodies or to implement a new body here that will be properly aligned with NABBA/WFF in Australia & NABBA International. As you know, he is totally willing & prepared to work with the existing executive to enable this to happen. Obviously it would be in everyone's interest to utilise the experience & structure that is in place here now but to do this the Old Guard has to let bygones be bygones & agree to operate under NABBA/WFF's terms & rules. We are still waiting to hear from Graeme as to whether there has been any meaningful dialogue or whether, in fact, NABBA NZ has just seen fit to publish their calendar with International links to the Universe implying a chance of attitude & position.

Back to the calender issue, just read on the NZFBB website that it's going to be MID Jan before the Calender will be out!!!! Surely not, alot of us need to get leave in by Feb or it's a no go next year.

It's quite dissapointing as we want to plan our year ahead and Nabba NZ and Nabba Australia have both got their calendars out. Mind you last year NZFBB changed the date and place for the Nationals 2 months before they were to be held. I think they are waiting for Moe to get back to the country.
