Just me tonight...flying solo But feeling alot more confident in the squat than i was previously accouple weeks back...have made some slight adjustments to my technique and im also having the belt alot higher, basically right under my ribs/chest cavity. its something im trialing out atm,

According to Earnie Lillybridge: while not giving you much pop out of the hole, (as opposed to having the belt lower/over your stomache) - Having it higher supposed to help bring the chest up coming out of the hole, Something of a weakness of mine - So im gonna roll with it for now

Well..Back home!, Man what can i say....Such an epic weekend at FitX!!!!

Both Geordie Shields and i had a sucsessfull comp at FITX, him doing both bench/dead comp and me doing the deadlift only.

Pulled my biggest deadlift in comp to date and smashed both the records i set last dec by 10kgs im now in the 700lbs club!!!!

1st attempt - 290 www

2nd - 307.5 www

3rd - 320kgs rww...hardest pull of my life!!!

i belive thats both a NZ rec and the GPA WORLD record in the 140kg weight class. i will confirm that asap.

Met some Bloody awsome lifters from auz. very welcoming and there are some STRONG units. just want to thank Wayne Howlett and the rest of the ozzie crew for making us feel welcomed!

Big ups to Optimass's aunty and uncle for their hospitality and letting us stay at there house for the weekend..thank you so much for letting me stay there. such an awsome and welcoming couple!

and to my sponsors CBC, All the people that organized the event and ran the tables

Many thanks FoTR, what more could i ask for?....how about a week off? hahaha. will take abit of RnR and get back into it. still plenty of competitor to test myself against and motivate me to further heights!

The determination and fight you put in to complete your third lift was amazing. Sheer guts and a refusal to give in. Bloody well done.

AM

Pretty full on Day, ran a bench/squat workshop down at CrossFit Manakau this morning and checked out the box, they havent converted me  but just interesting to see how they train etc. Great to see the form on most of the oly/pling movements are well polished..Kudos to the team there

PM

weird benching without any niggles, almost....alien. will keep the intensity for both squat and bench down for the time being aswell. Staying in the 90-92% range as im training by myself (just for the time being) but will add in more intensity on my assistance movement as i beleive im getting some great carry over from them
