How Long do Your Weight/Strength Sessions Last For?

Mine's about 45-60 I think, though that would be including warm up and stretch. That gives me another half an hour for getting to and from work, showered, changed etc (often getting to the gym counts as my warm up, as I almost run, especially when I'm trying to make a spin class on time!)

Off Season: 60-90mins mantenance work, 45-60sec rest periods

Season: 2.5-3.5 hours use equipment (suits/shirts), 3-5min rest periods

That's pretty insane, 2.5 - 3.5 hours, I guess that allows for changing of gear etc as well as the fairly long rest periods (3-5mins)?

How would the volume/intensity compare to a 90minute session?

Weights 40mins-60mins

Cardio sessions usually 20mins-60mins, training at the mo for the marathon goes up to 4 hours

Ehh... 4 hours?

I am also thinking that as well :-s

Yep up to 4 hours of running for marathon training at the mo, I have a 36km run to do this weekend and the full marathon in 3 weeks which is 42km.

Hey Laver, in my off season volume is pretty high with average intensity - less weight but higher reps. Its back to basics doing a bodybuilding based template (usually a 2 on, 1 off, 2 on, 2off split) and this period of training is all about setting up a solid foundation for the upcoming power cycles when season rolls around.

During season the workouts can be very long, sometimes setting up exercises when using chains and bands that can take time. We are using much higher weight with less reps (5 and less) and rest periods are essential as the focus switches to quality. Volume intensity is moderated into the cycles to avoid CNS fatigue.
