Finally! A movie! Insane squatting :shock: Did you feel anything explode?

Rosie you are obviously not a loyal follower of le 800 kg raw total. :) I have posted a couple of movies!! More to follow. :)

It felt ok. A little heavy and hard to settle with at the top. That giant bar rock me around a little. Nothing exploded this time. :pray:

squats tonight were insane mate ! big dude all the way !

how much do those deadlift bands add ?

Not too sure about the bands. I'm guessing 50-60kg at the top. Probably a bit much. Next time we will probably loop a smaller band on as well so that it kicks in a bit sooner. Hitting those bands like that half way up is a bit of a shock!

I have had a fairly quiet week. I took Tuesday and Wednesday off from training. The max effort squat really took its toll. I felt like I had been hit by a truck. Not injured. Mother Rose had a good term for it- "CNS ROOTAGE". :)

I did some light back on Thursday. Nothing too serious:

Front lat pull down- 6 sets of 6-10

Cable row- 4 sets of 10

Bent over rows- 4 sets of 6-10

Close grip pulldowns- 3 sets of 10.

The aim was just to get some good blood in the lats and middle back.

I did shoulders today and again it was pretty low key. The aim was more to get a good pump rather than worry about the weights I was using. 90 for 6 was as heavy as I got on behind neck press.

Behind neck press- 6 sets of 6-10

Front press- 4 sets of 8-15

DB front raises- 4 sets of 8-15

DB side laterals- 4 sets of 15

One arm rear side laterals- 3 sets of 15.

I want to be fresh for the trainings ahead:

Sunday- arms. PB on 5 rep close grip

Monday- posterior chain. Deadlift and then squat

Tuesday- Chest

Wednesday- light back

Thursday- rest

Friday- rest

Careful old man or I'll Mother Rose your arse. There are a Plethora of Falsh Words I could've used to describe your condition, but let me assure you that through my 50 million years of being an absolute dickhead nobody, I'm well qualified to use terms such as "fucked", "rooted", "munted" etc.

It's a well documented fact that 'rootage' is actually a frequent occurrence among aged people. Sadly, as you get older, your ability to keep up with the younger lifters diminishes. There's another term you may be familiar with? It may or may not be called 'HTFU' :grin:

Oh and by the way, Mr Tape Measure says my arms are bigger, wanna see? :pfft:

Sunday 22 November- Arms

Gutted I missed the best of the south yesterday. I was in Auckland all day. Just a light arms day. I was going to go heavier on close grip but kept my ego in check. :)

Close grip bench- 60x10x2, 100x8, 120x8, 140x10x2

This is a PB for 10 reps. Wicked pump

Tricep pushdowns- 10 sets of 10 reps

Overhead rope tricep extensions- 6 sets of 15 reps

One arm tricep pushdowns- 4 sets of 15 reps

Barbell curls- sat on 60 kg and did 6 sets of 8.

Hammer curls- 4 sets of 8-10 reps

Cable curls- 4 sets of 15 reps

Time to rest up and hit some numbers on Monday and Tuesday. :)

Monday 23 November 2009- Squat and Deadlift

My last squat and deadlift before the raw competition. I decided to stay with my cambered bar box squats. Feeling confident in my ability to back squat on the day so I decided to protect my elbows.

Giant cambered bar box squats- 60x5, 100x3, 140x3, 140+40kg chains x3, 180+40kg chains x1, 220+40kg chains x1, 260+40kg chains x1Felt easy. I could have gone for a PB at 300kg plus 40kg of chains but decided to park my ego. I will open on 260 kg on Saturday.

Deadlifts- 70x5, 120x3, 170x3, 220x1, 260x1

This felt good. I will also open on 260 kg.

The only issue I have is my bodyweight. I am a bit light so a couple of kg of bodyweight between now and Saturday would help.

Bench tomorrow. :)

:doh: Oh yeah that too, spread it on top of the 4 pies ala tomato sauce. Paste is actually very nutritious. Did your LEAN MASS arrive? Obviously not if you're a bit light on it huh :-s Should do a track and trace, is your postie looking buff lately? :pfft:

Tuesday 24 November 2009- Chest

My last chest workout before the Eastside Raw Open. I didn't want to go too heavy on flat BB too close to the competition so I decided to go a 5 rep on incline BB and do some reps on 140 kg flat BB. Two big PB's so I am as ready as I can be.

Incline BB bench- 60x8x2, 100x5, 120x3, 150x5

Flat BB bench- 60x8, 100x5, 140x15

"Tell them that we are ready".
