Michaelk growing to Aus

Been an interesting week for me, last sat after training my Hams with some heavy Stiff Leggeds on the Smith, I decided to use the same equipment for a standing calf raise with feet on a pair of plates, and on the 2nd set....BAM felt my calf go, and I was doubled over hobbling out of the gym and in my mind out of competitive bodybuiding - it felt major.

2 days later I was still hobbling, on crutches and in massive paid still - enter magic Physio stage left. After two sessions, and following the RICE advice I was walking freely, the damage is deep in the muscle and yet now I'll be back squatting this week!!

As I was in no position to walk, and was dropping fat easy, so I had already decided to go with the approach of cutting my cardio right back anyway, and cutting fat burners back to half. We are looking at ensuring I retain the added size and thickness I've put on since last time, and fortunately the hour and a half of cardio I did last week still burned off over a percent and a half of fat and I added .7kg lean mass - very happy:)

Things are coming in very nice, looking hard and with 5 weeks to go on track. We have my exact fat % and lean mass goals recorded, and things are looking strong to nailing them and presenting exactly what I was hoping too.

Her name is Martina and she works at Roland Jeffery physio in Glenfield....unfortunately she is leaving for aus very soon.

I have been trying to convince her to open her own room at our gym (with 4000 members she should get some bus) as my miracle recovery would itself be a great marketing opportunity.

Anyone is immagration that can prevent her departure, I would appreciate it:)

Hi Mike

I heard though a mate that you might be setting up an area just for powerlifting in your gym just wanted to know if this is true?

If so what gear will you have and how many 20kg or 25kg plates, platform, bands and chains etc?

any info regarding this would be great thanks for your time

At harbour fitness the developement for Harbour hardcore is well underweigh with the equipment well and truley ordered.

It is not a PL or BB specific area but an area with equipment and attitude that caters to those that want to train hard.

There is a strength criteria to be able to train there, whilst not a huge level of strength required, it will be sufficient to keep the trainers out who simply are not suited to that environment yet - they are welcome to train up to it in our main gym facility.

There will be platforms, about 3000kg of 20kg plates, 2 sets of dumbells up to 70kg if my memory serves me, and plenty of equipment to go around.

We have selected a range of equipment that will cater to our PL guys, our BBers and we're hoping that other athletes requiring strength training (rugby, league etc) will find value in some other equipment ordered that will suit their needs more specifically.
