Righto. Yesterday I found out I am 4 weeks preggers. This is brilliant news for me and my partner!

Obviously all goals of hitting the stage are out the window for a a good 18 months.

Last night I got bugger all sleep. My mind was racing and there was a huge storm over our house. Thunder & lightening woke me at 2.30 and I managed to get back to sleep right before my alarm. Bugger. Eyes feel like they are hanging from my sockets. My injury is playing up after High Intesity cardio from Monday, so, due to tiredness & pain (and I cant take painkillers anymore) I am having today off exercise.

Breakfast: 8 egg whites, 150g kumara, 1 T flax.

Mid morn: 1 yogurt (read this morning that I need this for calcium)

Lunch: 120g chicken + 1 cup rice + 100g broccoli.

Arvo: 1 protein shake + 1 apple

Din: 150g chix + 150g salad

Late: 1 yogurt

  • 2 weeks later...

Well I have bugger all to report as far as training goes. The progesterone in my system has completly slowed down my digestive system as my bod tries to suck out every possible nutrient I have eaten. This has lead to SEVERE bloating (I look 6 months preggers), and I am at the point where I constantly feel full (reaaaally full) so its hard to get my normal intake of food in. Im eating about half what I usually do, and by the evening dont even want to eat - but still manage a few bites.

I am also short of breath. Travelling up 2 flights of stairs leaves me gasping for air - bloody hell!!!

Tired - yep, I yawn constantly till about 11am before heading into a nap for a good hour in the arvo. I get about 9 hours a night sleep but still want more.

Morning sickness; got that ALL day. Not to the point where I have to vomit, but feeling quesy from 6.30am till about 8pm. Some morning sickness pills are curbing it slightly.

I also have a throat/ear infection so am off to see the Doc today to get that cleared up; hopefully they can give me something.

So, with being nauseaus, tired, bloated - training has been bugger all. I may do a couple of sets of light weights but that makes me feel worse.

Im at week 7 - hopefully things improve soon as this is seroiusly no fun at all.

Congrats on your pregnancy :) . The first trimester can be really hard...with tiredness and nausea..not fun :( . My 2 c worth....listen to your body and just rest when you can. The nausea and tiredness should go once you reach 12 weeks and in the 2nd trimester your energy will come back. I'm probably already preaching to the converted :pfft: but make sure you take a good pregnancy supplement too.
