Now that's some straight talking H :shock: . Guys like Darren Neves and others in the apa give alot of their personal time for no return but a passion for the sport. We really do need to "grow the sport" and give it more of a presence. How that will happen :huh: I don't know but there is plenty of healthy debate aye :lol:

Anyhoo it was at Get Strength and worth going. Only about 7 of us turned up..mainly the uni lifters and just me and VP...which is a real shame cos there was a lot of expertise there....Kevin Strachan, Steve King, Simon Weaver who are all seasoned lifters. Got some great tips from Simon. And I will happily share the love with you.... as I see that Big J is trying to trade for mud cake :pfft: typical :roll: Will fax you :grin:

yeah was stoked with that just gave me a little boost of confidence....maybe I should just get d to run my cards for comp and not tell me what weight he's put down and I just lift it...it's all psychological really :shifty:

Being a APA committe member myself, I would be one of "those fuckers" you are talking about.

Since it is obvious you are an expert on developing niche Sporting organisations, how about becoming a committe member and helping out rather than throwing cheap shots from the side lines.

The APA now run well organised comps which will be welcoming to anyone who was anticipating competing in our sport.

Were are a sport with little resources but do what we can. We (the committee members ) actually spent some of our own personal money to upgrade the equipment. When was the last time you participated in a NZPF or APA event instead of these soft cock Novice contests with no drug testing and soft judging?

As for your elitist attitude toward non-ipf comps, theres your answer to why the sport isnt growing.

perhaps you would prefer it if coast barbell/esbb/powerhouse stopped running 'soft cock novice comps'? im sure all these young guys getting in and having a go must be really holding back the sport :roll:

So how much benefit is the sport getting from you calling the APA Fuckers?

and calling the clinic a 'token' effort. Implying that we only do it because we have to. Seems to be more negative than positives comments.

CBC, ESBB and PH are great for the sport. Aswell as Get Strength... :grin:

Novice Comps have there place. I just think that people not willing to progress from them onto IPF sanctioned only inhibits the sport IMO. For reasons I just cant understand

The NZPF is in more control of policy and procedure and collectivley organising the regional associations. The drive within the regions (APA, CPA etc ) have more of a handle on the grassroots of PL and are doing thier upmost to improve the sport with scarce resources.

That is why I took your post offensivley...just seemed like a comment that was slagging off any attempts to improve the sport
