Deload couldn't have come at a better time. I'm feeling tired and R leg sore.... glute, hammie and calf. Think my sciatic nerve may be pinched? Thanks Corey for the tip on releasing the nerve...will work on that and see if it makes a difference. After test day will go to the osteo and make sure alignment is all good. Lots of foam rollering for me this week

Anyhoo enough of the poor me... on ward and upward

Great list going on there! Covered just about everything! Might have to steal that and add into a sunday session

Tah mate..feel free to help yourself

best of luck for your comp, is it the one in Auckland?

Thanks will give it my best...yip Auck champs

Did you crochet it yourself? I am intrigued!

Yes I'm really into crochet...it's a dying art form :pfft:

Uhh I actually meant croquet. The ball is hard/small and have found it really good for rollering the lateral gastrocnemius which has been giving me some jip.

Good luck for the comp Ma'm I know you will do well! SFW!

Thanks Vee...the goal this comp is to crack 300kg total....so I will give it my all and some.

What they said, Bar-belle - with the way you've been approaching this, surely good things will come for you and all the CBC team

Is the big city laying in extra supplies of steaks and cheesecake for the after-match ? :)

Good Hunting tomorrrow may all your lights be white

Thanks OB for the well wishes

Sooo Auckland Champs...it wasn't all bright lights or should I say white lights  but a huge day that has stoked the fire in me.

Squat:

100kg www

110 no lift - rushed my set up and into the lift felt unbalanced so racked it back

110 dropped in, didn't sit back, not depth

Bench:

60kg www

65kg wrr - fast/easy but bum off bench on descent

65kg www

Deadlift:

120kg www

130kg wrr - apparently I hitched it

130kg www fast/easy

It was a huge learning curve and I got some great advice and support from some very experienced lifters and referees. So won my weight class and came 2nd overall female to Suzy Derbyshire who is a seasoned lifter and awesome competitor. Total qualifies me to compete at Nationals which is the next comp for me in August. Big thanks to Corey for running my cards, Big John and whanau for supporting me, Emma/Ross for filming and watching the kid and of course to my coach for getting me this far and getting my head back in the game when my confidence was dented.

Here's a few pics of the day.

About to squat 110kg

110squatR-500.jpg

About to pull 130kg

Rdeadlift-500.jpg

Locked out 130kg

Rdeadlift1-500.jpg

My training partner Rechelle and I (she won her weight class too)

RR-500.jpg

Cheesy grins with our gold medals

RRoutside-500.jpg

So a bit of a rest for me for the next few days other than recovery work and rehab...then it begins again 13 weeks to Nationals.

Impressive lifting rach  I had the best seat in the house and your lifting looked reeeeeeal strong  Few technical issues to iron out then top spot at nationals will be yours 8)

Hey thanks mate. Yip gonna work on those over the next cycle...better to get pulled up on them now at champs than nationals aye. You did an awesome job on the spotter/loading. Huge day.

And cheers for the quiet words of encouragement for me on the platform before each lift. Appreciate it :)

VP

Yeah I was aiming for a bigger total especially as I had done so before with my squat/dead but what you do in the gym doesn't mean jack unless you can replicate it on the day in comp. Next stop on the sheiko train Tauranga in August. Booyah

wow, awesome lifts barbelle your stronger than alot of dudes!

Cheers light..I hadn't thought of it like that 8)

nothing can hold back the tidal force of...

MOTHER RUSSIA!

i saw u smile when i said that too while u were chalking up :pfft: :pfft:

Yup Mother Russia will be back....maybe I need to attack the bar like John S and the Burge boys  or have some salts and get the big man to slap me around a bit like he did to you before a lift

awesome effort!

onwards and upwards

Thanks Sir...yes that is the plan
